Realising a console about as powerful as the Xbox 360 and the PS3 a year before Sony and Microsoft launched much more
powerful consoles seemed like a bad idea when it happened, and the decision hasn't aged well.

consoles from Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony have traditionally dominated the industry.Whether those companies should be worried is a matter of some contention, but the timing of Valve's announcement — just several months before
powerful new
consoles from Microsoft and Sony are due for release — doesn't
seem entirely coincidental.
Every Sony
console launch
seems to need to incorporate these: incredibly
powerful hardware, solid design and a Ridge Racer title.
So it
seems kind of odd, given that the least
powerful console of every gen in gaming is somehow null and void to this new concept that the most
powerful console will win out in the buyers heart.

seemed to hint that the company's next
console could be a more
powerful machine that still runs the core Xbox One software, allowing you to still play all of the games you currently own.
It doesn't
seem to make any sense that Microsoft would unveil its most
powerful console on a non-Microsoft site.

seems that Nintendo's next
console will be more
powerful than both the Xbox One and PS4 according to Twitter user @IndieGamerChick.
When Phil Spencer addressed the press at Microsoft's Xbox Spring showcase earlier this year, he spoke about the concept of the Universal Windows Platform — about applications that could run seamlessly across Xbox and PC; and he
seemed to be hinting at an almost modular future for
consoles, where players could swap in more
powerful components as the years went on.
While there's never a great time to unveil a smaller, more
powerful system to someone who's just purchased one of the now second - tier original
consoles, now
seems like a particularly rough time.
Until now, it
seems the main problem since the One's release has been a lack of Xbox - exclusive titles, i.e - games that would make you want to pick the
console over the more
powerful PS4 or family - friendly Wii U.
