powerful union affiliate in the country) came out with some interesting new business items which are currently under review by its board of directors.

NYSUT also won't be blocking any of its
affiliates — most notably the
powerful downstate teachers
union, UFT — from going their own way in endorsements if they so choose.
Then finally, there's the national
affiliate, which is usually the National Education Association, the biggest and most
powerful union — and political entity — in the country.
