teachers in need
of additional professional development and mentoring and to discover
gifted teachers who can serve as mentors to share best
practices.

of CHP is to provide access to research - based and evidence - based
practices for students, families, and
teachers, as well as up - to - date information about ways to connect with others who are
gifted and find enrichment activities and special programs.
Evidence - based
practices that inform the
teacher preparation and programming standards in
gifted education relate to assessment, curriculum, instruction, and grouping issues, all
of which are embedded within the CCSS.
Edward Fergus, citing findings from his 10 - year root cause analysis
of disproportionality (2016), found that «the wellness
of instruction and curriculum as it is represented in instructional support teams /
teacher assistance teams, intervention services, assessment, and
gifted and talented programs continuously emerged as maintaining gaps in
