The subjects were participants of the TRacking Adolescents» Individual Lives Survey (TRAILS), a prospective cohort study of Dutch
preadolescents who will be measured biennially until they are at least 25 years old.

preadolescents who perceived a lack of parental emotional warmth, and high levels of parental rejection and overprotection were described as being more inattentive, aggressive, and delinquent by both parents and teachers.
