Predictive keyboard app maker SwiftKey, based in London, confirmed today it has sold to Microsoft.

predictive keyboard app for iOS and Android, adding a number of enhancements including the Toolbar, an expandable menu that sits atop the keyboard for easy access to frequently used features.

There is a new feature under the guise of Type & Send, which eliminates the need to open a dedicated
app for each type of message where the smart
keyboard triggers
predictive messaging — when opened up for use.
The British
apps firm SwiftKey is recognised worldwide for its powered by artificial intelligence
predictive keyboard which is installed on 300m iOS and Android devices across the globe.
It hit the market several years ago with a
predictive engine unlike anything any other
keyboard had and the
app has grown a lot of over the years.

Pure Android 6.0 Marshmallow has added
predictive apps, based on the time of day, frequency and so on, which will appear in a special area at the top of the
app drawer and you also have the added bonus of the dedicated
app search bar that's accessible via the
keyboard or voice, as well as the scrubber bar to jump directly to the
app you want.
The company will not only continue to develop and support the SwiftKey
apps for Android and iOS, but will also integrate the SwiftKey's artificial intelligence that powers its
predictive technology with Windows Phone's famous Word Flow
keyboard.
