Much of my work with couples is informed by Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and John Gottman's research on what
predicts stable marriages.
Not exact matches
There are three general factors that can help
predict how happy and
stable your
marriage will be (Larson and Holman, 1994).
However, research indicates that interracial
marriages were 13 % more likely, in one report, to divorce than same - race
marriages.32 Though interracial
marriage did not
predict divorce per se, they were generally less
stable and the risks varied by ethnicity.
The common thread Gottman found that
predicts divorce so well is weaved into it, and it is this: for a
marriage to be
stable, you must have lots more positive interactions than negative interactions.
