pregnancy and birth stories, and dreaming of the type of birth I'd like to have.

Story I had a natural
birth,
and I started wearing the Corset girdle as soon as I got home from the hospital.
She followed our
story, from our
birth announcement photo shoot through the end of
pregnancy,
and those first moments with our daughter.
Both were great, hard but wonderful,
and I found that reading a lot about labour
and birth (both physiological
and stories) helped me to realise that I could influence my experience hugely just by the attitude that I cultivated as
pregnancy progressed
and the mental «tools» I used during labour.

Another big plus has been reading all the wonderful
birth stories here, which have given me much more confidence than I had with my first
pregnancy and birth.
Now that the online TTC community knows her
story has a happy ending (she just gave
birth to her second son), it's a little easier to read Julie's account of five IVF cycles, two intrauterine insemination (IUI) cycles, a premature baby, HELLP syndrome,
and a
pregnancy achieved through donor eggs.

These emails are all about empowering

pregnancy and new parenthood, a beautiful example of in hospital self advocacy,
and a valuable insight from a «non-mom».

pregnancy includes creating an internal
and external environment of healthy, positive elements: healthy eating, appropriate exercise, listening to positive
birth stories, gathering knowledge, planning the ideal care,
and partnering with a caregiver who can lead you through each step safely
and confidently.
Watched videos
and participated in an online natural
birth course (that I took twice during the course of
pregnancy) I focused on others» positive natural
birth experiences
and tried to block out the worst - case scenario
stories.
So already Christie's
story is an amazing one - planning a home
birth and also representing the community of women
and families who experience
pregnancies and births often without spouses or other family present because of active military duty.
