You will also be expected to produce prescription labels, choose the type
of prescription container, and stick the prescription labels on the container.
The responsibilities of pharmacy technicians include counting tablets,
labeling prescription containers, filing records, updating patient profiles and preparing insurance forms, as well as (sometimes) answering phones, stocking shelves, sending faxes and handling money.
Pharmacy Technicians deals with many responsibilities and duties such as count tables, compound, pack and label pharmaceutical products, choose the
correct prescription container and level it, work on joint project with pharmacy technicians of other pharmacy companies, and calculate the price of the prescription.
There are many forms of acceptable ID to prove who you are including: a student identity card, label on
a prescription container, debit card, or library card.
As the Lead Pharmacy Technician I supervise, train, and help the other technicians under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, retrieve the appropriate medication from inventory, create prescription labels and put them onto
the prescription containers, reconstitute oral liquids, input patient and prescription data into system, take telephonic prescriptions pursuant to current regulations, and complete paperwork related to filling prescriptions.
Once a prescription has been verified, the pharmacy technician will sort and bottle the pills or tablets; mix and pour liquid medications; and print and attach labels to
the prescription containers.
