The present study provides evidence consistent with the suggestion that EFT can alter the way the brain encodes and responds to threats in
the presence of a romantic partner.
Although the latter study included the physical
presence of the romantic partner, presence was not varied (i.e. the partner was always present).
For example, adult romantic partners feel safe in
the presence of their romantic partner and are more likely to explore the environment if the romantic partner is perceived as available.
