In her first
exhibition at Corbett vs. Dempsey, Morris
presents several stunning
new paintings, contrasted with a survey of drawings dating back to the period in the mid 1990s, when she had just graduated from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
Artist, painter and curator Cary Smith opened his show on Saturday, June 7, titled This One's Optimistic: Pincushion, a group show at the
New Britain Museum in Connecticut, delivering remarks introducing the
several artists in the
exhibition who were
present, a short exposition about painting in affirmation and ended with a heartfelt tribute to Jennifer Wynne Reeves, an artist beloved by many who was at that moment in hospice care.
This
new exhibition, curated by Massimiliano Gioni, will feature more than 60 works from 1997 to the
present, on loan from leading international institutions and private collections, as well as
several new works created especially for this show.
