I pressure cook dried beans all the time and they always turn out lovely.
Not exact matches
However, the COSORI
pressure cooker will
cook beans from
dry on the highest
pressure setting (as instructed in one of the recipes in the recipe booklet).
Buy
dried beans instead of canned and
cook them in a
pressure cooker.
Chileans also stand by the
pressure cooker for
cooking dried beans, but I don't have one (canned
beans hardly exist there, hence all the tips).
I put the
dried beans, water and all the vegetables (no vegetable stock, just water for the
beans) in and
pressure cooked for 30 minutes on high, and it was really yummy.
If using
dried beans, soak overnight and simmer in
pressure cooker for 10 minutes or stovetop for 1 - 2 hours.
Amounts — Use at least a 6 - quart
pressure cooker to
cook a pound of
dried beans.
If you have an electric
pressure cooker, take the same steps listed in the recipe but saute the sausage and aromatics all in the Instant Pot (multicooker) and add the
dry beans and other ingredients.
Never tried them in the
pressure cooker (just the
dry beans).

It felt awesome to think «I want some
cooked chickpeas» and an hour later, after adding the
dried beans to the
pressure cooker, I had myself some chickpeas.
The
pressure cooker drastically shortens the
cooking times of healthful vegan staples such as
dried beans and ancient grains: suddenly hummus from scratch and braised artichokes become weeknight fare.

Pressure cookers use steam to
cook foods faster; that means
beans go from
dry to delightfully creamy in about half an hour.
To all out there who can or want to learn to can, you can
cook dried beans in a
pressure cooker, but please remember to soak them overnight or to bring them to a boil (with lid off), for 5 minutes, turn off fire and let sit for an hour.
If you soak
dried beans overnight, it takes just 10 minutes to
cook in the
pressure cooker.
Pretty much all you're left with is
dried beans, the same justification that was given for buying a
pressure cooker.

dried pinto and black
beans are
cooked in a
pressure cooker, along with a wonderful array of spices like chili powder, cayenne, cumin, and even cocoa powder.
