While the synergies derived from this partnership are obvious — more purchases are made from the Nook store and Samsung gets more retail outlets for their
tablets in the form of Barnes & Noble brick - and - mortar stores — they seem
pretty minor in the scheme of things, especially considering how much energy (and
money) B&N devoted to the Nook over the last few years.
But the price has dropped to about half that now, which makes it
pretty good value for your
money, if you want to get one of the best 10 inch
tablets around with Android.
While the Nexus 7 (2013) was a
pretty sizable update in all the ways that mattered, it still continued the original Nexus 7's mission of giving consumers a lot of
tablet, for not a lot of
money.
So sure, I can see where that extra
money is going and I guess we need to remember that Google is marketing the Nexus 9 as a
tablet that can do
pretty much everything rather than the Nexus 7 which was basically good for consuming content and browsing the web.
