Now that there are two
primary weapon slots for guns like pulse rifles, auto rifles, and hand cannons, the game's most deadly firearms have been relegated to a single «power weapon» slot that can only be refilled in timed intervals throughout the match, and by only one player on your team at a time.
The move from Destiny 1 «s primary, secondary, and heavy weapon slots to what is essentially two
primary weapon slots and a heavy weapon slot has been highly criticized since before the game's release last September.

primary and secondary
weapons and empty their lethal and tactical
slots.
The kinetic and energy
slots are meant to be more interchangeable, allowing players to equip more
weapon types than the stricter
primary and secondary
slots from the first game.
Instead of
primary, sidearm and heavy
weapons as in original Destiny, Guardians will have kinetic, energy and power
weapon slots.
The «Go Fast» update made many changes to the
weapon sandbox but did not significantly alter the time to kill (aka TTK) for
weapons in the
primary or energy
slot.
