print hardcover versions of E.L. James» bestselling 50 Shades of Grey trilogy, even though electronic and mass market paperback editions have already sold 65 million copies.

I like
printing a few
hardcover versions through Lulu (because it's easier and cheaper to set up than Lightning Source) and taking some media kit shots of me in a bookstore (doesn't have to be an official «book signing» — you can even put a few on the bestseller shelf and take pictures of them there).
This statistics basically prove that digital still has a way to go before it ever over takes
print, and readers would rather wait for the paperback
version comes out, instead of paying extra money for the
hardcover.
E-books would also be released around the same day as their
hardcover print counterparts, instead of waiting days, weeks, months after the
hardcover releases before releasing the e-book
version.
Publishers fought and won the ability to raise eBook prices, sometimes charging as much for digital copies as
hardcover print versions.

hardcover or, more commonly, the cost effective softcover
version.

The only reason trad published authors don't is that most trad publishers do NOT push the e-book and they price it so high that people see more «value» in the
printed version, especially the
hardcover.
