One of the most intelligent, thoughtful, and personally appealing pastors I ever encountered had just one
problem as a preacher.

One big
problem today is that the world is full of
preachers who don't have the guts to tell the truth and just give people their weekly feel good and sent them out into the world just
as lost
as they ever were.
As Christian

The fundamental (excuse the pun)
problems with far - right Christianity are exactly the same issues our Savior spoke about to the Pharisees: judgmentalism, hypocrisy, intolerance, and the hyper - extremity of observing the letter of the law rather than its spirit (
as evidenced by statements from various
preachers that people such gays and disobedient children should be killed).
But despite the linguistic
problems associated with this designation, it seems that the epithet «
preacher,» in the sense of «pastor,» is indeed an appropriate one, at least theologically.36 According to Duncan Macdonald, we have done Qoheleth an injustice by viewing his work
as reflecting only a spirit of resignation and despair.
The job of a Christian

as these have been worked out in the tradition down the centuries.
The
problem facing the
preacher as Biblical interpreter has frequently been framed on the «Word of God — word of man» dichotomy.
The
problem with these street
preachers is that they are closer to Pharisees than disciples of Christ because they slander with shallow judgment despite what the numerous passages that condemn such actions such
as Matthew 7, Luke 3, John 7:24, John 8, Romans 1, 1 Corinthians 6, Galatians 5, Ephesians 4 - 5, Colossians 3, Titus 1 - 3, and 1 Peter 2.
While Dostoevsky would surely admire the papacy's stance against the encroachment of materialistic rationalism, his main
problem with the pope was that he acted
as a temporal lord rather than
as the
preacher of the Christ whose Kingdom is not of this world.
Virtually no Christians sell their goods and give the proceeds to the poor
as Jesus commanded, and no preist, pope,
preacher or whatever asks them to — because it is stunningly bad advice that will impoverish people and lead to substantial social
problems.
As noted in the article, too many of the richest and most famous
preachers will simply not acknowledge there is a
problem.
