Also the
problem is worse with a warm engine / transmission
than when it is cold, presumably because at higher
temperatures it idles at lower rpm.
Does the effect that the
temperature has on the
problem cause you to believe there is more to the
problem than the wiring harness?
I did some looking around and if I don't think the coolant sensor is a
problem because it goes into closed loop mode quickly enough, and the
temperature gauge is showing a normal
temperature so I'm sure the thermostat is doing its job (it's also less
than a year old).
If you notice the
temperature gauge rises more
than normal, have the issue checked out before it causes a major
problem.
Also, the lack of dual - zone climate control can be a bit of a
problem if your passenger has different
temperature needs
than you.
These tiny dark brown insects prefer
temperatures of 65 - 80 degrees and humidity levels of 75 - 85 %, so for some areas of the country they are considerably more
than just a
problem of the summer months.
Severe heat stroke occurs with a body
temperature greater
than 106 °F and can be deadly, causing kidney, liver and heart
problems.
Temperature Animals have more
problems in hot environments
than in cold.
The
problem with proxies is that they are indirect measures that are influenced by factors other
than temperature alone.
«To put the
problems inherent in recording «bucket»
temperatures in this fashion into their proper context, I can do no better
than record the conversation I had some years ago with someone who had served in the British Navy in the 1940's and 50's when the bucket readings were still common (they finally finished in the early 60's).»
The lack of trend in the GCR is a more fundamental
problem, and it may well be that night time
temperatures have risen faster
than day - time
temperatures, but I didn't think we could say that with certainty at present.
So the
problem has been principally with MSU 2LT, which despite a strong surface
temperature trend did not seem to have been warming very much — while models and basic physics predict that it should be warming at a slightly larger rate
than the surface.
Another thing that completely puzzles me is the fact that if one simply averages
temperature proxies, as Craig Loehle has done, one sees that the MWP was likely warmer
than present times, and the largest
problem of the previous 1000 years has been the LIA.
The
problems with associating sensitivity with a
temperature in 2100 are twofold: first, at the time we reach CO2 doubling, the
temperature will lag behind the equilibrium value due to thermal inertia, especially in the ocean (thought experiment — doubling CO2 today will not cause an instant 3C jump in
temperatures, any more
than turning your oven on heats it instantly to 450F), and secondly, the CO2 level we are at in 2100 depends on what we do between now and then anyway, and it may more
than double, or not.
The IPCC range, on the other hand, encompasses the overall uncertainty across a very large number of studies, using different methods all with their own potential biases and
problems (e.g., resulting from biases in proxy data used as constraints on past
temperature changes, etc.) There is a number of single studies on climate sensitivity that have statistical uncertainties as small as Cox et al., yet different best estimates — some higher
than the classic 3 °C, some lower.
But if we happened to find strong evidence that, say 1K years ago
temperatures were as high or higher
than the ones predicted for the coming decades (not implausible as yet) we would have at least 2 major
problems with the AGW theory: 1) According to the forcings commonly considered (for example in Crowley's data set) there would be no explanation for such a phenomenon.
So, is the
problem (with my attempt at extending the GISP2) to modern time, that GISP2 is showing a different
temperature than what the AWS a the summit is producing, perhaps the actual surface (or should that be the firn)
temperature vs. 2m above?
The
problem with this explanation is that ocean
temperatures, to first order are a consequence of an increase in ocean heating, rather
than a cause of ocean heating.
The
problems arise for previous periods, but then we depend on other observations
than the continuous measurements of
temperature by satellites and CO2 at MLO or other base stations.
* There is too much conflicting evidence about climate change to know whether it is actually happening * Current climate change is part of a pattern that has been going on for millions of years * Climate change is just a natural fluctuation in Earth's
temperatures * Even if we do experience some consequences from climate change, we will be able to cope with them * The effects of climate change are likely to be catastrophic * The evidence for climate change is unreliable * There are a lot of very different theories about climate change
and little agreement about which is right * Scientists have in the past changed their results to make climate change appear worse than it is * Scientists have hidden research that shows climate change is not serious * Climate change is a scam * Social / behavioural scepticism measures * Climate change is so complicated, that there is very little politicians can do about it * There is no point in me doing anything about climate change because no - one else is * The actions of a single person doesn't make any difference in tackling climate change * People are too selfish to do anything about climate change * Not much will be done about climate change, because it is not in human nature to respond to problems that won't happen for many years * It is already too late to do anything about climate change * The media is often too alarmist about climate change * Environmentalists do their best to emphasise the worst possible effects of climate change * Climate change has now become a bit of an outdated issue * Whether it is important or not, on a day - to - day basis I am bored of hearing about climate change
A change in local rainfall may affect human society more
than a change in global
temperature, so we should beware of equating the size of the projected global warming with the potential seriousness of the climate change
problem.
This is one of the main challenges with the urban heat island
problem — it is harder to keep enough staff to maintain a continuous
temperature record at an isolated rural location for a century (or longer)
than in the heart of a thriving metropolis.
If we do not apply any physical modelling to the
problem of finding the global average
temperature, it seems to me that for each point on the Earth we can make no better
temperature estimate
than by interpolation based on triangles.
The
problem with
temperature as a measure of climate is that it is misleading without a measure of humidity, as moist air has more thermal energy
than dry air of the same
temperature.
'' that there have been periods of warming and cooling in the 20th century, and that the net outcome has been a higher
temperature at the end of the century
than at the beginning; and (2), that it is not clear exactly how much that increase has been, because of measurement
problems.»
The
problem for me is that there is are no credible causal explanations for the large range of
temperatures the earth has clearly experience, from the depths of the ice ages to periods that appear to have been much warmer
than now.
The
problem for me is that there is are no reasonable causal explanations for the large range of
temperatures the earth has clearly experience, from the depths of the ice ages to periods that appear to be much warmer
than now.
Mixed phase can exist to
temperatures less
than -30 C producing a wonderfully complicated IR transmission
problem.
The
problem is that we are looking for the average of the actual global
temperature changes for Earth where some areas warm more rapidly
than others and some areas cool.
Now, as you say, there are all sorts of
problems with the historical records of sea level but — just as with
temperatures — it is likely that measurements from the satellites will be more accurate and less prone to random variation and sampling error
than measurements from ground based sensors.
«The
problem is that the earth is very large and the
temperature is always changing, everywhere, so how can we possibly tell if overall it is a mere half - degree warmer today
than it was around 1902?
Published
temperature histories for the time period since 1800 that keep changing every few months or couple of years, and always «corrected» to show the
problem is even worse
than we thought previously.
Operating cost for electric cars is $ 0.50 to $ 0.75 per mile versus $ 0.10 for gasoline powered cars once battery replacement costs are included By 2020, Chinese PER CAPITA emissions will be higher
than America's Does not believe that the 0.6 degree
temperature rise to date is the West's «fault,» but does believe that China is the future
problem Whatever U.S. does about emissions reduction and what people do as individuals is totally trivial in face of the fact that China is adding huge amounts of coal fired generating capacity The most meaningful emissions reduction strategy today would be to convert China from coal to natural gas The claim that there are more frequent or more intense hurricanes and tornadoes as a result of AGW is not scientifically supported We can reduce emissions, but it is important that we do the RIGHT things (and NOT the WRONG ones) Not worried about «peak oil;» coal can be converted to liquid fuel
The
problem is that the data shows a much weaker
temperature gradient
than GCMs predict.
Problem # 1 — «All things being equal, a bottle filled with CO2 will always warm faster and to a higher
temperature when heated
than does a bottle filled with regular air because the specific heat of CO2 is lower
than that of air.»
