There were too many issues with the weaker single player campaign and too many
problems as a console venture.
Nintendo's
problems as a console owner go much deeper than that, I believe.
Not only does it have all of the same
problems as its console counterpart, but it adds a few more on top of them.

problem, besides getting watered down ports, is that the mass market sees Nintendo
consoles as «kiddy» and not able to handle / do what they want and they're not really wrong.

console manufacturers who can make profitable growth once their machine is established (see Nintendo) and a universal medium for any competitive industry isn't exactly hard, it's almost impossible

There would need to be some sort of system in place to ensure that any given game doesn't have such serious
problems,
as consoles aren't designed to have their components pushed to max or to be crashed in numerous different ways.
This would definitely help curb their
problem of ending support quickly when a new
console drops, but I can see people responding to a One X2 the way the world responded to Wii U: it plays the same games and more, but is perceived
as an optional attachment rather than successor.
Steam users (like me) often run into this
problem, and have more games than we will EVER beat, or playthrough once, let alone have time / money for ALL the newest next - gen games to play
as well... Which is why, picking a primary
console is the ONLY realistic option for most of us gamers... it Isolates the types of games, the AMOUNT of games so we aren't backlogged on «must play» titles after being out only six months, and so we can actually USE our

problems with the gacha model, such
as the large amounts of money often required for success, risk undermining the value of Nintendo's characters, which in turn could dent the company's bread - and - butter

The poor performance of the GameCube
console was a factor here (
as with the Resident Evil remake) but another

as risky
as launching a new
console right now, especially after some of the past
problems they had.
In its defense, the game never crashed, but
as the third Assassin's Creed title on the current
console generation, Origins shouldn't have these
problems at all.
The real letdown comes with the Wii U version, which sees owners of Nintendo's
console once again left with a sub-par experience marred by frequent frame - rate issues and some pretty striking texture quality
problems that makes it hard to recommend when both 360 and PS3 offer up smoother gameplay and more enjoyable online play
as a result.
It could also be used to upgrade the power of your main
console as suggested, but that setup seems quite complicated and leaves devs with uncertain hardware conditions and split your userbase (the same

console game (which every thing says it will be on the Vita) then why is there a
problem with paying 50 for a game.
