In Acts, Luke uses this title when writing about work currently going on; the work
of the risen, exalted Christ: «God exalted him... as
Leader and Savior to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness
of sins» (Acts 5:31); and again: «By raising Jesus» (Acts 13:33) «God has brought to Israel a Savior, Jesus as he promised» (Acts 13:23), and «through this
man forgiveness
of sins is
proclaimed to you, and by him everyone that believes is freed from everything from which you could not be freed by the law
of Moses» (Acts 13:38).
