The exhibition is divided in two steps: historic, made possible by the recovery
of important
productions from the 1970's, from
artists such as Nelson Leirner, Letícia Parente and Regina Silveira; and contemporary, with works by
new generation artists, such as Eder Santos, Brígida Baltar, Gisela Motta & Leandro Lima, and Sara Ramo.
Especially the
new generation of artists in the 1970s who started working with video was focused on the
production of the moving images and their content; they have created television
of their own in order to share a different kind
of knowledge and encourage critical thinking.
Developed in consultation with Okwui Enwezor, this exhibition explores the
production and intellectual potential
of a
new «
generation of African designers, architects and
artists who transcend the boundaries between design, art, photography, architecture and urbanism.»
