Because of its cold - adapted features and rapid warming, climate change impacts on Alaska are already
pronounced, including earlier spring snowmelt, reduced
sea ice, widespread glacier
retreat, warmer permafrost, drier landscapes, and more extensive insect outbreaks and wildfire, as described below.
