provocative challenge to «generic purity and policing» in English education because it did not locate English teachers» professional knowledge «within the box of NCLB standards» — or the boxes of National Council of Teachers of English / International
Reading Association Standards (NCTE / IRA, 1996) or English education research (e.g., Alsup et al., 2006; Brass, 2009).
