Psyllium is a type of plant that produces small seeds that are used as a natural dietary supplement for improving digestion. It is commonly taken as a fiber supplement to help with constipation or to promote regular bowel movements.

First, we had a flax and
psyllium husk husk avocado toast with all sorts of toppings inspired by Goop and Magnus's taco recipe.
2/3 cups of almonds (or any other kind of nut) 1/2 cup of flax seeds 1 cup of sunflower seeds 4 tablespoons of
psyllium seed husks (this bread can't do without, so you can't substitute it with anything else!)
Along
with psyllium seed husks, coconut flour is the base for the awesome FP wraps / tortillas I make.
I originally searched for it, because a gluten free cookbook that I purchased called
for Psyllium husk powder in every recipe.
It is a kind of pure fiber that really binds liquid, great when you are balking without grain:) It is also known
as psyllium seed husk, if you do not know it try googling it that would probably be the easiest:)
One variety of Metamucil, the Clear & Natural version, does not use
psyllium fiber; instead this product uses inulin fiber, which is harvested from chicory roots.

He recommended I use Doctor Butlers Cream, I did and the instructions with the cream said I should
take Psyllium fiber with the cream.
It also
contains Psyllium seed husk powder, a soluble fiber, which helps move hairballs through the digestive tract.

Not sure exactly what you mean but I
find psyllium fiber taken a couple of hours before or the morning of the end of the fast and the next day help tremendously.
I
like psyllium as a binder because I have trouble with both flax and chia, so it's nice to see more bloggers baking with it.

The increased gas, bloating and flatulence caused
by psyllium ingestion is uncomfortable, but generally will not cause significant medical problems.
You can get it at most health food stores, and both powdered and whole
psyllium work in this recipe.
I guess that's why companies
make psyllium more palatable by adding quite a few other ingredients (i.e. refined white sugar, aspartame, artificial food flavorings, artificial food colorings and preservatives).
It would be good to keep an extra glass of water when
consuming Psyllium Husk for the first time, because it can be hard to swallow.
I may try to
substitute psyllium for the flax (I'm not really supposed to have flax due to my thyroid issues).
Always
mix psyllium with a good amount of water, and follow with a full glass of water to keep your system hydrated.
I recently found a Metamucil product that contains
just psyllium husks and gelatin; it's easy to open the capsule and mix the powder with food.
You can try adding some ground flaxseed and extra chia seeds to help give the bread structure if you can't
get psyllium, but I'm not 100 % sure it will turn out the same.
You really don't
need psyllium for banana bread, if you're following the correct ratio for quick breads!
The finally question for us is: Can we get to
much psyllium fiber?
If you're going to supplement, do so with a whole food source like
organic psyllium husk, flax seeds (be sure to buy the whole seeds and grind them just before eating to preserve the delicate omega - 3 fatty acids), or hemp protein / fiber (this is one of my favorite superfood smoothie add - ins).
She uses the same flours but
without psyllium husk, almond milk and baking powder.
If it absorbs a lot of liquid (like flax and chia) then I would add 1
tbs psyllium powder + 1 tbs almond milk, or however much milk to make a very thick paste.
