Postdoc Network Editor Laure Haak describes a partnership between the
private sector
and public institutions that hopes to enhance the quality of research at the
selected universities by using generous stipends to attract outstanding postdocs.
More than 220 colleges
and universities in eight states representing
public higher education systems
and select private institutions already recognize the superior quality of the Smarter Balanced high school test
and use the assessment system to help students further their postsecondary education.
In
selecting communities to participate in the program, the statute requires DOT to give priority to those communities where (a) average air fares are higher than the air fares for all communities; (b) a portion of the cost of the activity contemplated by the community is provided from local, non-airport-revenue sources; (c) a
public -
private partnership has been or will be established to facilitate air carrier service to the
public; (d) improved service will bring the material benefits of scheduled air transportation to a broad section of the traveling
public, including businesses, educational
institutions,
and other enterprises whose access to the National air transportation system is limited (e) the assistance will be used in a timely fashion;
and, (f) multiple communities cooperate to submit a regional or multistate application to consolidate air service into one regional airport.
You can use the proceeds from a 529 account at any accredited
private or
public university or college, vocational or trade school,
and graduate school in the United States,
and at
select foreign
institutions.
Select highlights include: Lisson Gallery's sale of an Anish Kapoor work listed as # 1.2 Million; David Kordansky Gallery sold out its booth of Tala Madani paintings, ranging from $ 22,000 to $ 110,000 each, to both collectors
and public institutions; Hauser & Wirth placed paintings
and sculptures by American artist Lorna Simpson with both museums
and private collections, ranging from $ 150,000 to $ 300,000; David Zwirner sold out of works by American sculptor Carol Bove, including four sculptures
and one work on paper at prices ranging from $ 50,000 to $ 550,000; Grimm Gallery completely sold out its stand, including works by William Monk ranging from $ 20,000 to $ 26,000;
and Mendes Wood DM sold works ranging between $ 10,000
and $ 50,000.

private institutions play an important role in furthering critical dialogue, broadening
public access to art,
and taking risks that many of their
public counterparts have proved unwilling to take.
Then, in 2014, a delightful exhibition at Tate Britain sparked new interest in him by telling the story of his life through hundreds of works of art
selected from the thousands he compulsively collected
and commissioned, either for his
private collection or for
public institutions.

Institutions and Collections across the world, the exhibition includes over 40 works, spanning from 1987 to 1994, invites audiences to contemplate issues, both
public and private, that are still relevant today.
