The Buffalo & Erie County
Public Library is pleased to announce two upcoming
lectures based on the editorial cartoons of former Buffalo News cartoonist and Pulitzer Prize - winning
artist Bruce Shanks.
The event consisted of Indie showcase, where 25 indie teams presented their games to the
public and run for valuable awards — best games were chosen by the judges from Serbia's top gaming companies — Nordeus, Mad Head Games and Eipix;
lectures held by top - notch professionals; live art showcase which gathered some of the best
artists in Serbia — all that was appealing to more than 1000 people who visited the event (which is entirely free of charge).
Community partnerships and programs will include the continuation of a multi-year engagement with the Museum of Impact, the world's first mobile social justice museum; collaboration with King School Museum of Contemporary Art; establishment of an interdisciplinary library that invites
artists, writers, musicians, educators, and activists to contribute all types of media; a free
lecture by Thomas; educator workshops; curatorial conversations; Miller Family Free Day, and Portland
Public School collaborations.
In conjunction with the exhibition there will be a
public lecture, and a catalogue written by independent art critic Karen Wilkin with alumni
artist and writer Christina Kee.
Year - round education activities include school and teacher programs, student and
public tours, TAP audio tour and Great Chain Game,
lectures, gallery talks, Second Saturdays for Families, Community Days, studio classes,
artist residencies, concerts, and films.
