The following are Family Law Resources created by Edmonton Community
Legal Centre (ECLC) and Centre for
Public Legal Education for Alberta (CPLEA) who have given Medicine Hat
Legal Help Centre permission to
use and distribute.
It is intended to be for individual
use to aid in research and
education on the community
legal clinic system and poverty law in Ontario, and to educate the wider
public.
It's one of Courthouse Libraries BC's special projects,
used by a growing number of BC
legal organizations — including the Canadian Bar Association BC Branch and several others — to deliver
public legal education and information (or «PLEI») in a cost effective way that ordinary citizens can easily find and
use.
The extremely positive findings of the evaluation support the continued
use and further expansion of this innovative model of
public legal education delivery.
The PLEIs have also been very good at raising the bar nationally, with regional events in Montreal (Colloque D'Educaloi — October 2010) and Vancouver (Justaclickaway — February 2011) culminating in fascinating collections of insights and best practices in the delivery of
public legal education and the
use of new media tools to do it.
But I must
use the second best «alternative
legal services» of clinics,
public legal education kiosks in shopping malls, help for self - represented litigants, pro bono and targeted
legal services, and various forms of self - help.
