public schools from inequities of funding caused by the proliferation of charter schools; and would «encourage» the
decision makers who currently establish

policy to play within the rules, or forfeit the thing they are really most concerned
about: those sweet, sweet campaign contributions.
Whenever I hear
public officials and education
policy decision makers suggest that closing schools is a legitimate strategy, I know that person is not serious
about actually improving educational outcomes.
Thus, as a
public servant, in the broadest sense, Gore has interacted with the scientific community, learned what we have learned and how well we think we know the science, and then made the translation for the
public based on his perspective as a
policy maker and
decision maker (something we scientists often don't know much
about).
In every area of
public policy, from national defense, to the environment, to the economy,
decisions are shaped by developments in and arguments
about science and technology.
I wanted to argue that it really doesn't matter whether you are a fan of wind energy or not; the
