publishing was worth investigating.
Self -
publishing is fraught with terrors — first, you have to
convince yourself you really have something worth saying; then, you have to get it down on the page, or
in the computer; next, you have to cough up hundreds, sometimes thousands, of dollars to get the book designed and printed; and finally, you have to figure out some
way to sell all those copies, or give them away, just to clear off the kitchen table so you can sit down and have a bowl of noodles.
That being said, I will put forth my numbers
in a
way I hope will open the eyes of those who might see your post and still be
convinced that self -
publishing and ebooking is the only
way to go.
If Amazon succeeds
in convincing enough authors that KDP & KOLL are the
way forward and along with them, exclusivity, companies like Smashwords and other aggregators of self
published content will be put
in the position of having to justify their offering.

way down», is not and will never be a
convincing argument, even when it is
