If the
Publisher is an entity, the individual person who
accepts this
Agreement for the
Publisher represents and warrants that he or she is entitled to enter this
Agreement as an authorized representative of
Publisher and to bind
Publisher to the terms of this
Agreement.

If you've already submitted your initial synopsis and it's been
accepted for publication, you will then return a signed Author -
Publisher Agreement along with payment for the publishing package.
Hachette won the first round, doing a deal with Apple and forcing Amazon to
accept an agency
agreement, rather than a flat rate that gave
publishers more control over prices.
(d) Archiving can be further ensured and the author's intellectual property rights further asserted, through alternative licensing
agreements that researchers are now using with
publishers when their articles are
accepted;
