you pull oil the dipstick?

To check for fluid in the booster, you could try a wire hanger, or perhaps even your
oil dipstick after wiping it off well,
pull the vacuum hose off, and carefully stick that in to the bottom.
Depending on the car it may be best to run the
oil level towards the low mark on the
dipstick to prevent «
pull over» (where
oil gets into the inlet manifold at high revs), or towards the top end if the engine is prone to surge (where the
oil in the sump sloshes away from the pick - up pipe).
When I
pulled dipstick out it was pretty much dry with some
oil on the edges.
If you have a long enough piece of tubing, you can stick the excess down the
dipstick tube, put your thumb over the end,
pull out the slack (that is now full of
oil) and you'll have an immediate siphon.
Jettas have a fairing under the engine that makes it hard (impossible) to get to the drain plug without quite a bit of work under the car, so years ago I got an
oil extractor so that I could
pull the
oil out through the
dipstick opening.
Pull the
dipstick, is it a clear brownish
oil color, or like a chocolate milkshake?
