For some uses the difficulty in changing
pulley wheel sizes to alter gearing will be a major issue.
Combined with a new turbo housing, the
new pulley wheel's lower weight will also reduce rotational inertia inside the turbocharger, improving throttle response despite the higher boost being produced.
If you live a rustic or industrial - inspired space, these
upcycled pulley wheel and fan blade lamps from Memphis - based Market Central should appeal.
Some of this could be overcome (more belt adjustment margin to allow a greater range of
pulley wheel sizes), but that still leaves a significantly higher cost for alternative sizes of pulley wheels compared to sprockets, and the impossibility of doing the equivalent of taking a couple of links out of a chain (or indeed the impossibility of swapping out a belt in a hurry without removing the swinging arm).
Most likely cause for this is that you have some condensation built up overnight on either the belt or one of
the pulley wheels, and until this has evaporated the belt will be able to slip a little, causing a squeak.
First, attach
the pulley wheel in the bend of the steel plate.
(It will go up over
the pulley wheel.)
Once the track is securely mounted to the wall and the hardware is all attached to the door, simply set
the pulley wheels on the track.
One question however, when looking at how the pulley is attached to the door, there is a vertical bar attaching
the pulley wheel to the door.
The other issue we had was with
the pulley wheels; because there is no bearing in them, they don't actually roll.
If you look closely at the photo, you'll see that
the pulley wheel has PAT.
