I didn't personally meet my own goal
of nursing (I wanted to
do it
for one year, and barely made 9 months) because
of the hours I
worked - 3 12 - hour shifts in a row, meaning I rarely had an opportunity to nurse my son
for those days and nights, and he was getting
pumped milk from a bottle.
I
pumped at
work for a total
of about 20 months between my two kids and I could not have
done it without a hands - free option.
I went nine months all together, and I giggled back to
work full time after three months, so I
did pump for a long time but you know it was a bit
of a struggle at first and it wasn't that (inaudible) because
of having larger breasts, it was just calling same concerns that all new moms face when nursing
for the first time.
This
worked for me,
do what
works for you, and if
pumping won't, try to just go to a part
of it, as an hour away from your little one is a lot different than a whole night.
I know she said like you know, she kind
of made priorities and the
pump didn't
work out
for her.
And while more and more women breast feed, many
of them
do it
for the first few months, and stop when
working and
pumping gets too tiring.
I hear ya with the
pumping — my son was in the NICU
for 11 days and I had to
do a lot
of pumping and it's so much extra
work but it's worth it.
Manual
pumps are also perfect
for travelling and
work great
for a lot
of women who don't respond well to electric
pumps.

The removal
of the colostrum is essential and
pumping just doesn't
work that well because the colostrum is too thick and the quantity too small
for a real let down to occur.
We found that not only
did they want a
pump that
worked, but also desired an array
of other products and services designed
for both their babies and them.
The baby is going to require a certain amount over the 24 hours and
for people who are struggling with milk supply during the day or unable to
pump enough while they're at
work, this idea
of reverse cycling, co-sleeping, having your baby with you and nursing during the night could really make it a lot easier so you don't have to supply the baby with so much while you're gone.
If it was in the middle
of the night and I couldn't find (or didn't want to look
for) my breast
pump and my kid was
done eating, I was left
doing all the
work.
So I used that intermittently really with my two boys, and then I decided that listen, you know, this really isn't
working for me, I kind
of don't remember what I actually
did with that
pump.
In order to
do what we have to
do —
work, parent, feed our babies breast milk — we
working moms need to bring machines to
work with us and use them a few times a day, in privacy, to
pump milk out
of our bodies and into the bottles our babies will need
for tomorrow's feedings.
My first child, now 4 years old, puked up my milk and could only tolerate formula (although the
pump worked great
for me); but with my newborn daughter, I began drying up within the first two weeks
of pumping, and I don't know why.
OK, fine, but what if your job has a private space with a locking door that's not the bathroom where you can
pump for as long as you need as often as you need so that you can use your industrial strength breast
pump which by some miracle you can afford so you can now fill up bag after bag
of fresh healthy milk every three hours at
work for six months straight and your supportive husband can drive to
work and pick it up
for you so you don't even have to store it in the gross community refrigerator so as to avoid the all - too - inevitable jokes about whether you're going to «whip up a milkshake
for everyone» or remarks such as, «Guess we'll be just fine when the coffee creamer runs out?»
I
pump at
work and nurse when i am at home, its not easy to get up in the middle
of work and
pump every 3 hours, but i
do it because # 1 its healthy
for my baby and # 2 i don have to carry around a tub
of formula and # 3 it helps me loose the baby weight.

Of breast milk and sometimes it's 5oz / 6oz... we sometimes get her a4oz formula bottle with her cereal.I pick up brothers from school at 1and go drop off with grandma and feed Baby again... she gets 5oz bill around 3:30 p and I get home at 6 pm to nurse her and then get food
for the kids and don't forget homework... baby gets her veggies... and mom gets Cold

work and I realized I need more bottles
for efficiency and also
for sanitary reasons, my family who lives in CA sent me some Lansinoh bottles but unfortunately they
did nt fit the

of moms find that they don't respond to the
pump the way they want to whether they are back at
work, full time or just wanting to
pump for an occasional bottle.
Although having to go through IVF and gestational diabetes and 2 c - sections and Joey's NICU / nursery stays and both kids self weaning were all huge emotional and physical traumas
for me (and my husband), now that they're in the past and I'm a mommy to two amazing toddlers, I can see that it all
worked out how it was supposed to.And my advice to all new mothers who hope / plan to nurse take a breastfeeding class when pregnant, have a breastpump in the house before the baby is born, buy nursing bras that have front panels that you can open easily (and bring some to the hospital with you when you go to give birth), don't be afraid to
pump and let someone else give the baby a bottle
of your milk when you need to sleep, hold off on introducing baby food until much closer to 1 year old than 6 ohtnms, and be prepared
for it to be hard and possibly painful at first (think cracked, bleeding nipples and breasts that are so full
of milk you think they will explode so also have lanolin and / or nipple cream in the house, and nurse or
pump well before you let yourself become engorged and in pain).
Our Bolga Depot was shut down

My 2 cents: — LOVE Washable Wednesday — please don't change — one day
for maternity clothes — definitely need at least once a week because although pregnancy is a short period it is a hard time
for shopping
for stylish
work appropriate clothing — one day
for nursing or
pumping items — one day
for baby or kid gear (strollers, lunch bags, great clothes
for mini-corp * rettes — so hard to find stuff that's not pink / purple but still a bit girly — e.g. when Land's End finally brought in a girls version
of their astronaut t - shirt.)
Any dress that shows off my smallest point while playing with pattern and having pockets its a clear winner in my
book closet, plus the twirl - worthy & timeless nature
of the dress makes it a serious investment piece you can keep until the end
of time... and I intend to
do just that DVF Wrap Dresses are perfect
for work with a classy
pump and a cardigan or weekend wear with a cool leather jacket and booties.
With oil
pumps it just doesn't
work that way but I suppose an engine can run without a water
pump for a short period
of time whereas an oil
pump failure would probably be disastrous.
