initiative supported by The HSUS to promote more humane treatment of dogs in Missouri's large - scale commercial
puppy mills has been certified by the Missouri Secretary of State's office.
Nearly 1 million Missouri voters sent a powerful message through the ballot box to shed the stigma of being the
puppy mill capital of the country by approving Proposition B, a statewide ballot
initiative to establish basic standards for the care of dogs in large - scale commercial breeding facilities.
Last month, the residents in the state of Missouri voted in favor of a ballot
initiative sponsored by HSUS (and others) that put harsher restrictions on «
puppy mills» in the state.
