HUGH MCGREGOR: In my PhD, I've been looking at how cats interact with fire and grazing, see whether their movements - I've
put GPS
collars on cats to see whether they would select intensely burnt or intensely grazed areas, and we've
put little video
cameras on
collars to see whether they're actually better hunters in intensely grazed or burnt areas.
For example, citizen scientists from local Sherpa communities set up
camera traps, collect scat for DNA analysis, and help
put radio
collars on the the cats.
