need to add not replace so we have top
quality backup in reserve.

quality, speed, power, technique and finishing that Arsenal
need in a striker. He looks like that kind of player who'll bang in a lot of goalsif given the chance in a top team.Aubameyang is very very fast and clinical and at his age he's at his best.If we sign him it's more likely he'll be here for a while than most of the two due to his age.

This is an incredibly difficult question to answer for a variety of reasons, most importantly because over the years our once vaunted «beautiful» style of play has become a shadow of it's former self, only to be replaced by a less than stellar «plug and play» mentality where players play out of position and adjustments / substitutions are rarely forthcoming before the 75th minute... if you look at our current players, very few would make sense in the traditional Wengerian system... at present, we don't have the personnel to move the ball quickly from deep - lying position, efficient one touch midfielders that can make the necessary through balls or the disciplined and pacey forwards to stretch defences into wide positions, without the aid of the backs coming up into the final 3rd, so that we can attack the defensive lanes in the same clinical fashion we did years ago... on this current squad, we have only 1 central defender on staf, Mustafi, who seems to have any prowess in the offensive zone or who can even pass two zones through so that we can advance play quickly out of our own end (I have seen some inklings that suggest Holding might have some offensive
qualities but too early to tell)... unfortunately Mustafi has a tendency to get himself in trouble when he gets overly aggressive on the ball... from our backs out wide, we've seen pace from the likes of Bellerin and Gibbs and the spirited albeit offensively stunted play of Monreal, but none of these players possess the skill - set required in the offensive zone for the new Wenger scheme which requires deft touches, timely runs to the baseline and consistent crossing, especially when Giroud was playing and his ratio of scored goals per clear chances was relatively low (better last year though)... obviously I like Bellerin's future prospects, as you can't teach pace, but I do worry that he regressed last season, which was obvious to Wenger because there was no way he would have used Ox as the right side wing - back so often knowing that Barcelona could come calling in the off - season, if he thought otherwise... as for our midfielders, not a single one, minus the more confident Xhaka I watched played for the Swiss national team a couple years ago, who truly makes sense under the traditional Wenger model... Ramsey holds onto the ball too long, gives the ball away cheaply far too often and abandons his defensive responsibilities on a regular basis (doesn't score enough recently to justify): that being said, I've always thought he does possess a little something special, unfortunately he thinks so too... Xhaka is a little too slow to ever boss the midfield and he tends to telegraph his one true strength, his long ball play: although I must admit he did get a bit better during some points in the latter part of last season... it always made me wonder why whenever he played with Coq Wenger always seemed to play Francis in a more advanced role on the pitch... as for Coq, he is way too reckless at the wrong times and has exhibited little offensive prowess yet finds himself in and around the box far too often... let's face it Wenger was ready to throw him in the trash heap when injuries forced him to use Francis and then he had the nerve to act like this was all part of a bigger Wenger constructed plan... he like Ramsey, Xhaka and Elneny don't offer the skills necessary to satisfy the quick transitory nature of our old offensive scheme or the stout defensive mindset
needed to protect the defensive zone so that our offensive players can remain aggressive in the final third... on the front end, we have Ozil, a player of immense skill but stunted by his physical demeanor that tends to offend, the fact that he's been played out of position far too many times since arriving and that the players in front of him, minus Sanchez, make little to no sense considering what he has to offer (especially Giroud); just think about the quick counter-attack offence in Real or the space and protection he receives in the German National team's midfield, where teams couldn't afford to focus too heavily on one individual... this player was a passing «specialist» long before he arrived in North London, so only an arrogant or ignorant individual would try to reinvent the wheel and / or not surround such a talent with the necessary components... in regards to Ox, Walcott and Welbeck, although they all possess serious talents I see them in large part as headless chickens who are on the injury table too much, lack the necessary first - touch and / or lack the finishing flair to warrant their inclusion in a regular starting eleven; I would say that, of the 3, Ox showed the most upside once we went to a back 3, but even he became a bit too consumed by his pending contract talks before the season ended and that concerned me a bit... if I had to choose one of those 3 players to stay on it would be Ox due to his potential as a plausible alternative to Bellerin in that wing - back position should we continue to use that formation... in Sanchez, we get one of the most committed skill players we've seen on this squad for some years but that could all change soon, if it hasn't already of course... strangely enough, even he doesn't make sense given the constructs of the original Wenger offensive model because he holds onto the ball too long and he will give the ball up a little too often in the offensive zone... a fact that is largely forgotten due to his infectious energy and the fact that the numbers he has achieved seem to justify the means... finally, and in many ways most crucially, Giroud, there is nothing about this team or the offensive system that Wenger has traditionally employed that would even suggest such a player would make sense as a starter... too slow, too inefficient and way too easily dispossessed... once again, I think he has some special skills and, at times, has showed some world - class
qualities but he's lack of mobility is an albatross around the necks of our offence... so when you ask who would be our best starting 11, I don't have a clue because of the 5 or 6 players that truly deserve a place in this side, 1 just arrived, 3 aren't under contract beyond 2018 and the other was just sold to Juve...
man, this is theraputic because following this team is like an addiction to heroin without the benefits
Hes a jedi but i agree we
need cazorla back or player like him or rosicky or song and coquin wasnt song who can still play with the passing of the other players in the team xhaka is usually good on ball but so bad off of it hes been a bust so far we almost
need the french connection again they have
quality players we could use but honestly i think auba will be more effective on flank pnce we get laca back it takes alot of strength to play up front in the premier league it takes two years to rebuild in pl at least bit we have had two rough years and not nearly as rough as chelseas or
man u or Liverpool or well this is as big as totteham will be before we make them drop down again and oh do nt forget
man city either lets remember our history
Wilshire can play anywhere in the 5
man midfield, that is a mark of his
quality and in a couple of years he will probably find and settle into his best position, for now he just
needs to lay his injury troubles behind him, build up his ankles and focus on his football.
not bad players just average ones and slightly above average in girouds case... but because they have spearheaded attack for nigh on 5 years is one reason why arsenal have underperformed... we
needed two
quality attackers this window and adding one ai nt going to swing it our way but sadly seems like the yoghurt
man has past his sell by date but still deluding himself that he has a first X!
Every
man and his dog knows that we are in desperate
need of a defensive midfielder and a central defender and considering that there are no shortage of those in the market, Le Prof should really land
quality reinforcements and stop complaining about his backline being «bit soft».
«we
need two world class players in every position» thats the quote from Usmanov which i really agree with him same thing spanish big two has been doing for a long run and thats why European Championship has been changing hands because of
quality they have in their squad same thing can not be said when you come to Arsenal approach we are way below in England i can
Man city doing same thing pep brought with him
Until we cease to buy our season tickets, which for many is akin to taking out a second mortgage, the ludicrous salaries paid to players and Managers will continue to increase. With regard to the present crop of Arsenal players some may lack the guts and determination of the ex players you mention but at the end of the day the problem at the club now is a lack of
quality particularly through the spine of the team.Virtually all our fans recognise the
need for
quality in Goal, at Centre Back and DM.Unfortunately the one
man who is in a position to do something about it does not seem to agree with us.
But the Gunners
need 2 to 3 top
quality additions at some key areas within themselves to efficiently enhanced their last season strength and form which will make them confident at winning the title in the mist of powerful Chelsea,
Man City &
Man Utd.
Liverpool will
need to add
quality and depth up front this summer to compliment what they already have, but it's questionable as to whether or not Jimenez is the right
man for the job.
Arsene Wenger
needs to bring in a
quality holding midfielder and the Southampton
man is the right player for the job.
A 4 -3-3 system is favoured by Barca, Real Madrid and
Man City and Bayern, the top four teams in Europe. It suits the attacking philosophy of Arsene Wenger which is to his credit.Unfortunately we do not have the top
quality defenders these teams have nor a dominant DM.Nevertheless it is the best system for our current team which is top heavy in attacking midfielders hence the
need to play Ozil and Mik in wide positions. In my opinion the most balanced central midfield would consist of Elneny, Ramsay and Wilshere.Elneny was first class against Watford yet was left out against an average Milan side to accommodate the ever present Xhaka who will no doubt feature against CSK.
Still very disappointed that we didn't get the DM we
need, because we clearly have a great team — a good DM would definitely make us equivalent to
Man City or Chelsea in terms of squad
quality.
and sad truth is we only
need a couple more real
quality signings... but seems wenger is already digging his heals in... i think he still believes that diaby is the
man for defensive midfield, that arteta can still run the mid field that grioud will finally come good in epl or that sonogo will bully other defences... none of these assumptions is grounded in reality (that s the problem with having an economist as a football manager)... and there is no excuse for overpaid professional athletes to be exhausted after a couple of competitive games..
the teams from northwest (of england) do not mess round when it comes to football we'll have plenty on our hands when we face efc, lfc, manu and
man city we ain't made a big enuff statement in the transfer window we
need two more
quality players or we will take a swallow dive and go deep into freefall.
In turn, Conte
needs to start thinking about adding
quality and depth to his squad, and with cover for Marcos Alonso required, Kolasinac could have been the ideal
man to fill the void.
Khedira won the Champions League in May and then played a prominent role in Germany's World Cup triumph over the summer and is therefore clearly a
quality performer and perhaps the ideal
man to balance out the heaps of midfield creativity at Arsenal with some much
needed defensive nous.
personally i would give up a bit of power for more skill and mobility which is why i think we
need another carzola type urgently... but i appreciate there are other ways... but without a top
quality option in midfield this window any chance of competing at the top again will be gone for another year... that will be 14 barren years... back to the future with the yoghurt
man it seems!!
Vlaar is reportedly very keen on a move to
Man United where he would provide some much
needed quality at the back with Louis van Gaal having seen his defence crumble far too easily this season.
3
quality players in the window might get us 4th place but to be honest giving the frog joker a lifeline is not what is
needed at arsenal... the
man has to go so it is a matter of whatever it takes... the thought of him still being around come may just makes my stomach churn... and new year revelries cant be blamed... any more than refs or world cups or the weather or alien powers....
The thing that really bothers me is the thing we've disagreed on in the past and that's imo Wengers apparent lack of Urgency and decisiveness when moving into the transfer window I know that Scheweinsteiger would be a great addition but He is somewhat over the hill in comparison to the others that are being toted about and while I know that we are not the cash Rich
Man Poo or
Man Sh!tty or Chelski I do know that we are at a point for the first time in ten years where we don't
need to replace many players or are being frced to sell the
quality ones we have, we are for the first time in a spot where we only
need to add two or three players and we are there in terms of being able to compete, Id hate for the financial Exuberance to stop us taking that final stride forward into the competitive team we nearly are IMO spend the money now, get the striker, get the DM and we wont
need to look at transfers in a big way again for several seasons and with that in mind Id rather have the likes of Benzema or Lacazetta or even Cavanni than a nearly over the hill Scheweinsteiger.
no idea what games you have been watching but the idea of ramsey as a defensive enforcer is comical... missed tackles galore, slow in to tackles and weak first touch define his game... though to be fair only wenger thinks he is a renasiance footballer qble to play any position... the ramsey bandwagon was for some time based on the barca cant have him ay any price delusion... the
man should be part of the summer sale crop along with mert walcott and gibbs... its fifty fifty on campbell and giroud... both are decent squad players but the
need for
quality attacking options is palpable
here is the simple truth a team that has walcott giroud campbell merteshaker flamini and ramsey starting wont win trophies... not one is a top class player in their position... having two on the park on regular basis is not a problem and three can probably still ensure 4th place... if we want to go beyond that we
need to bring in two top class players in to the midfield and attack (thats in addition to the
quality returnees we do have) and to increase the work rate particulalry when we do nt have the ball by a good ammount... that was true 3 years ago 3 months ago and 3 days ago... wenger had the nerve recently to say not signing an outfielder in the summer had been vindicated... the
man has been drinking his own kool aid
We
need urgent
quality added, I like Jack but I'd like him better as a bench option so long as a top
man stepped in.
