There is mounting evidence that high
quality early years provision can have lasting positive effects, not only on the children who participate but on society overall.
Although the recognition of the importance of the Reception year is positive there is a real danger that high
quality Early Years provision might be undermined by this report.

years, there remains insufficient evidence to say whether school - based
early years provision offers better
quality of outcomes than other types of nurseries.
