It's difficult to blame Ozil
for the difficulties he's faced at Arsenal without looking at the big picture... like the fans, he too was lied to by Wenger... there is no doubt in my mind that he was told by Wenger that he was trying desperately to recreate our earlier success by acquiring players that fit the system he ran when Henry was in his prime... as we know this hasn't happened... in order
for Ozl to flourish he needs some speed up front, forwards that can make intelligent runs, a boss in the
midfield to compensate
for his obvious defensive liabilities and defenders who can transition from defence to offence quickly and efficiently... much like he had in Real and with the German National squad... unfortunately he ended up on a squad that has a striker who plays with his back to goal, very few intelligent runs into the box, minus Sanchez, no one to take pressure off him in the
midfield, once Cazorla was injured, average defensive
midfielders around him, which simply highlighted his lacking defensive
qualities and defenders who lack the necessary cutting edge when it comes to transitional passing... instead of blaming Ozil, which is simply too easy, especially considering his mopey disposition, we should be asking ownership and / or Wenger why they brought him in if they didn't intend on doing what was necessary to get the best from him... can you imagine Ozil playing with the likes of Henry, Viera, Petit and Pires, it would be incredibly to watch and even more difficult to stop... so the only thing different between his experiences in Real and with the German team versus his time at Arsenal are the players around him and we all know who is in charge of making those decisions, the Grinch who stole soccer

midfielder.
modern football is all about a defensive
midfielder who can be the one to cover the 2 CBs and not leave them hanging whenever a mistake is done in the
midfield also if you can remember when we bought nacho monreal he was supposed to cover a position in the
midfield and now is left back
for 3 — 4 years and this is unacceptable if you see other clubs the build the teams over the DM so that the rest
midfielders can create we bought this mess ozil which from day one he is not performing and not adjusting to BPL i don't know my friend i am speaking my mind from here in Athens so you who are in UK you now better than me and you can press
for quality players

In the
midfield, (including RWB & LWB) we have a whole bunch of tweeners... none offer the full package, none make sense in our manager's current favourite formation, except
for Sead on the left and Ox on the right, and all of them have never shown any consistency
for more than a heartbeat... Sead, who I'm including in this category because of our present formation, looks like a positive addition, minus his occasional brain farts, but I would rather see what he could do in a back 4 before making my mind up... Ox, who has never played better, which isn't saying much considering his largely underwhelming play in previous seasons, seems to have found a home in this new formation; unfortunately, can we really expect this oft - injured player to handle the taxing duties that come with said position over the long haul, not to mention, it looks like he has no intention of staying... Ramsey has relied on the empathy that stems from his gruesome injury years ago and the excitement that was generated a few years back when he finally seemed to put in altogether, but on the whole he has been a big disappointment (neither he nor the Ox have scored enough to warrant a regular spot)... Wiltshire should be put on a weekly contract then played until he suffers his first injury, if and when that occurs he should be shipped - out and no one should very be allowed to say his name on club grounds ever again... Elnehy & Coq are average players who couldn't make any of the top 7 teams currently in the EPL... both have showed some great energy on the pitch, but neither are top
quality and no good team can afford to have that many average players on their bench playing the same position, especially with Coq's injury history / discipline concerns and Elheny's headless chicken tendencies... as
for Xhaka, his tenure here so far has been incredibly underwhelming... we know he has some skills to provide the long ball but his defensive work is piss poor and he gives the ball away too cheaply and far too often... finally, the enigma himself, Ozil, so much skill with his left foot but his presence has been more frustrating than uplifting... in many respects his failure has been directly related to the failure of this club to provide him with the necessary players up front, minus Sanchez of course, and unless something drastic happens very soon his legacy will be largely a negative one (much like Wenger's)
We have needed a replacement
for Vieira
for over a decade but Wenger has consistently and stubbornly refused to get a
quality defensive
midfielder
Give him some rest
for PSG But I think most of the players playing Southampton will play PSG I think we should make good use of our Central
Midfielders for both matches because we have plenty of
quality players: Ozil, Cazorla, Xhaka, Coquelin and Eleney We have only 3 CBs available at the moment Koscielny, Mustafi and Holding
You are right we do need to get a top
quality defensive
midfielder and have done
for 10 years or more.
lst season at stamford bridge, was the first time i saw that 4 -1-4-1 formation being used, and
for some weird reason i feel a very strange negative vibe and well all know the outcome.the manager has come back with this formation and its not yielding result, but he still sticks with it.i do nt know much about formations dear friends, but if you are playing a slow dm in arteta and a very very slow cb, then you are toast against
quality teams with sound tactics.wen playing wellbeck as a lone striker, i think 4 -2-3-1, will work better, but if we have a big player like oliver (boooos), thn we can try the 4 -1-4-1, thingy cos he can hold the ball
for our
midfielders to run in.but on the overall, shame on wenger
for not giving our defence a good cover DM.NO BODY PLAYS A SLOW DM / CB AND EXPECT TO B REGARDED AS CHAMPIONSHIP MATERIAL.IT HURTS GUYS, REALLY HURTS.

The rumour mill will undoubtedly throw out a whole host of names that Arsenal could sign during the summer (Zlatan Ibrahimovic being one that stands out), but while Wenger's eye
for a bargain may have deserted him, most people would agree that our chances of success next season would be significant improved by the arrival of a top
quality centre - back, holding
midfielder and proven goal - scoring striker.
A
quality Striker such as Podolski does not need to back track and defend, he must challenge the Defenders and wait
for counterattacks, a striker role is to sprint from
midfield to goal, is not running all over the pitch as I see GIROUD and WELBECK, defending posts against corners, no wonder at the 60th minute they disappear, you need strong legs to score....
With Mesut Ozil, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Pierre - Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette scrapping

Anyways, The Ox is looking up
for it this season and has scored two

for now!??

quality in the
midfield.
He's a bit overrated I must say.I also don't get those who are asking him to tackle well. The fact is he's not a good tackler.I fear Wenger has made him untouchable in our team such that even if he plays badly he still starts.I mean if people are saying he's not a DM in the first place then is he also a CM?If he's a CM does he have the
quality to play along side a DM?These are the questions we need to ask ourselves. If he's a CM then he's good at distributing from deep and also up top but he can't hold thd ball in tight spaces or dribble which is very important. If he's a DM then he simply can't defend. That's why
for us to be successful in the long term with him we need a hybrid
midfielder or what I call a defensive box to box
midfielder.
The bottom line this summer in Arsenal signings is Le Prof MUST sign a top
quality holding / attacking
midfielder of Goretzka's caliber to fully complement his entire starting XI team next season and just limits himself to the signings of Kolasinac and Lacazette alone which if he does without signing a top
quality holding / attacking
midfielder, his starting XI team next season could be understrength at
midfield as Santi Cazorla won't be available in the first half of the season and Elneny can't be relied on to deliver high performances
for Arsenal on consistent basis.
I see no reason why we won't sign a
quality striker that will be an upgrade on Giroud and a
quality winger or
midfielder that will make up
for the loss of Sanchez if he goes or take Santi's role.

for the Premier League and other trophies.
