play badly yesterday. They were ripped apart on three occasions which highlighted the glaring deficiencies in our back four individually and collectively.I have criticised Xhaka all season but he

quality defenders, a new goalkeeper and a DM.

In the midfield, (including RWB & LWB) we have a whole bunch of tweeners... none offer the full package, none make sense in our manager's current favourite formation, except for Sead on the left and Ox on the right, and all of them have never shown any consistency for more than a heartbeat... Sead, who I'm including in this category because of our present formation, looks like a positive addition, minus his occasional brain farts, but I would rather see what he could do in a back 4 before making my mind up... Ox, who has never
played better, which isn't saying much considering his largely underwhelming
play in previous seasons, seems to have found a home in this new formation; unfortunately, can we really expect this oft - injured player to handle the taxing duties that come with said position over the long haul, not to mention, it looks like he has no intention of staying... Ramsey has relied on the empathy that stems from his gruesome injury years ago and the excitement that was generated a few years back when he finally seemed to put in altogether, but on the whole he has been a big disappointment (neither he nor the Ox have scored enough to warrant a regular spot)... Wiltshire should be put on a weekly contract then
played until he suffers his first injury, if and when that occurs he should be shipped - out and no one should very be allowed to say his name on club grounds ever again... Elnehy & Coq are average players who couldn't make any of the top 7 teams currently in the EPL... both have showed some great energy on the pitch, but neither are top
quality and no good team can afford to have that many average players on their bench
playing the same position, especially with Coq's injury history / discipline concerns and Elheny's headless chicken tendencies... as for Xhaka, his tenure here so far has been incredibly underwhelming... we know he has some skills to provide the long ball but his defensive work is piss poor and he
gives the ball away too cheaply and far too often... finally, the enigma himself, Ozil, so much skill with his left foot but his presence has been more frustrating than uplifting... in many respects his failure has been directly related to the failure of this club to provide him with the necessary players up front, minus Sanchez of course, and unless something drastic happens very soon his legacy will be largely a negative one (much like Wenger's)
Let's be honest, our team did not have enough
quality to win the Champions League this year, atleast
given the way the coach ran the players to the ground
playing them match after meaningless match.
Give him some rest for PSG But I think most of the players
playing Southampton will
play PSG I think we should make good use of our Central Midfielders for both matches because we have plenty of
quality players: Ozil, Cazorla, Xhaka, Coquelin and Eleney We have only 3 CBs available at the moment Koscielny, Mustafi and Holding
lst season at stamford bridge, was the first time i saw that 4 -1-4-1 formation being used, and for some weird reason i feel a very strange negative vibe and well all know the outcome.the manager has come back with this formation and its not yielding result, but he still sticks with it.i do nt know much about formations dear friends, but if you are
playing a slow dm in arteta and a very very slow cb, then you are toast against
quality teams with sound tactics.wen
playing wellbeck as a lone striker, i think 4 -2-3-1, will work better, but if we have a big player like oliver (boooos), thn we can try the 4 -1-4-1, thingy cos he can hold the ball for our midfielders to run in.but on the overall, shame on wenger for not
giving our defence a good cover DM.NO BODY
PLAYS A SLOW DM / CB AND EXPECT TO B REGARDED AS CHAMPIONSHIP MATERIAL.IT HURTS GUYS, REALLY HURTS.
We still struggle, look shaky and uncomfortable when we come up against any team that
plays a high intensity game, teams that don't
give us time on the ball, in your face etc all
give us a hard time, Watford did that in the first half but poor final 3rd

I still think we should use him and
give him
playing time but debuchy is better defensively and in the games which we need to defend better we could use debuchy and in games which we need to attack more bellerin... look at it this way we have two
quality RB......
Given the lack of
quality at centre back (just compare with Spurs) Arsenal should really limit their weaknesses in this area by
playing a flat back four which should currently consist of Bellerin, Holding, Kos and Kalasanic.
What makes him better than Arnautovic? The stats?I'm not saying Arnautovic is better or not but if I was a neutral watching them both the difference in
quality is not huge.Do you know what Arnautovic could have done if he was
given the lone CF role i Arsenal?I guess I'm also the only one who thinks Chicharito is better than Giroud yet
playing at West Ham.If we had Chicharito instead of Giroud from 2012 we could have easily won the league in 15/16 season. What makes Giroud so good that if I watch him on my TV I can't see?All I see is a player who turns his back to goal for most parts of the match.
Well written, but I think it will fall on deaf ears, my fear is as follows, it will take a loss in money for the manager and board to change, this will only come if we finish out of the top 4, but knowing the board they would still
give home a season to try again, I feel very sorry for Sanchez, he is total
quality and deserves better, most of the other players look settled, turn up
give70 % and get paid, no matter what level you
play at you should come off the pitch thinking I
gave everything, how many of our players could say that, they lack motivation, player for player we are as good if not better than athletico Madrid but they have a manger that gets 100 % out of every player, Klopp is the same, but why would they leave their clubs to come here with a boar that cares about money not entertainment, Wenger was a lucky manager he inherited a top defence now his luck has run out
This is an incredibly difficult question to answer for a variety of reasons, most importantly because over the years our once vaunted «beautiful» style of
play has become a shadow of it's former self, only to be replaced by a less than stellar «plug and
play» mentality where players
play out of position and adjustments / substitutions are rarely forthcoming before the 75th minute... if you look at our current players, very few would make sense in the traditional Wengerian system... at present, we don't have the personnel to move the ball quickly from deep - lying position, efficient one touch midfielders that can make the necessary through balls or the disciplined and pacey forwards to stretch defences into wide positions, without the aid of the backs coming up into the final 3rd, so that we can attack the defensive lanes in the same clinical fashion we did years ago... on this current squad, we have only 1 central defender on staf, Mustafi, who seems to have any prowess in the offensive zone or who can even pass two zones through so that we can advance
play quickly out of our own end (I have seen some inklings that suggest Holding might have some offensive
qualities but too early to tell)... unfortunately Mustafi has a tendency to get himself in trouble when he gets overly aggressive on the ball... from our backs out wide, we've seen pace from the likes of Bellerin and Gibbs and the spirited albeit offensively stunted
play of Monreal, but none of these players possess the skill - set required in the offensive zone for the new Wenger scheme which requires deft touches, timely runs to the baseline and consistent crossing, especially when Giroud was
playing and his ratio of scored goals per clear chances was relatively low (better last year though)... obviously I like Bellerin's future prospects, as you can't teach pace, but I do worry that he regressed last season, which was obvious to Wenger because there was no way he would have used Ox as the right side wing - back so often knowing that Barcelona could come calling in the off - season, if he thought otherwise... as for our midfielders, not a single one, minus the more confident Xhaka I watched
played for the Swiss national team a couple years ago, who truly makes sense under the traditional Wenger model... Ramsey holds onto the ball too long,
gives the ball away cheaply far too often and abandons his defensive responsibilities on a regular basis (doesn't score enough recently to justify): that being said, I've always thought he does possess a little something special, unfortunately he thinks so too... Xhaka is a little too slow to ever boss the midfield and he tends to telegraph his one true strength, his long ball
play: although I must admit he did get a bit better during some points in the latter part of last season... it always made me wonder why whenever he
played with Coq Wenger always seemed to
play Francis in a more advanced role on the pitch... as for Coq, he is way too reckless at the wrong times and has exhibited little offensive prowess yet finds himself in and around the box far too often... let's face it Wenger was ready to throw him in the trash heap when injuries forced him to use Francis and then he had the nerve to act like this was all part of a bigger Wenger constructed plan... he like Ramsey, Xhaka and Elneny don't offer the skills necessary to satisfy the quick transitory nature of our old offensive scheme or the stout defensive mindset needed to protect the defensive zone so that our offensive players can remain aggressive in the final third... on the front end, we have Ozil, a player of immense skill but stunted by his physical demeanor that tends to offend, the fact that he's been
played out of position far too many times since arriving and that the players in front of him, minus Sanchez, make little to no sense considering what he has to offer (especially Giroud); just think about the quick counter-attack offence in Real or the space and protection he receives in the German National team's midfield, where teams couldn't afford to focus too heavily on one individual... this player was a passing «specialist» long before he arrived in North London, so only an arrogant or ignorant individual would try to reinvent the wheel and / or not surround such a talent with the necessary components... in regards to Ox, Walcott and Welbeck, although they all possess serious talents I see them in large part as headless chickens who are on the injury table too much, lack the necessary first - touch and / or lack the finishing flair to warrant their inclusion in a regular starting eleven; I would say that, of the 3, Ox showed the most upside once we went to a back 3, but even he became a bit too consumed by his pending contract talks before the season ended and that concerned me a bit... if I had to choose one of those 3 players to stay on it would be Ox due to his potential as a plausible alternative to Bellerin in that wing - back position should we continue to use that formation... in Sanchez, we get one of the most committed skill players we've seen on this squad for some years but that could all change soon, if it hasn't already of course... strangely enough, even he doesn't make sense
given the constructs of the original Wenger offensive model because he holds onto the ball too long and he will
give the ball up a little too often in the offensive zone... a fact that is largely forgotten due to his infectious energy and the fact that the numbers he has achieved seem to justify the means... finally, and in many ways most crucially, Giroud, there is nothing about this team or the offensive system that Wenger has traditionally employed that would even suggest such a player would make sense as a starter... too slow, too inefficient and way too easily dispossessed... once again, I think he has some special skills and, at times, has showed some world - class
qualities but he's lack of mobility is an albatross around the necks of our offence... so when you ask who would be our best starting 11, I don't have a clue because of the 5 or 6 players that truly deserve a place in this side, 1 just arrived, 3 aren't under contract beyond 2018 and the other was just sold to Juve... man, this is theraputic because following this team is like an addiction to heroin without the benefits
«The Europa League, they decided that to
give the chance for it to be taken seriously again because most of the big clubs didn't
play with strong teams so to make it more attractive we opened the door to
quality.
Action speaks louder than voice, if Wenger considers him a top
quality striker, he would have found a way to
play him just like he always does to Ramsey, Ozil, Giroud, etc... Its just like buying a player like Sanchez, benching him and later admit he is a top player but you cant
give him game time... who is fooling who?
For all Gooner fans, First congratulations to Leicester for the achievement against a very good
quality team but their HUNGER, GUTS, EVERYONE
PLAYING FOR EACH OTHER AND MOSTLY WE DO NOT
GIVE UP ATTITUDE something our beloved team lacks.
Asides not buying enough to
give us depth in
quality (which is very essential in winning the EPL), Wengers style makes us an easy team to defend against by
playing central midfielders on the wing, who always drift to the center of the pitch when we are on the attack.
I for one will continue calling him a RIDICULOUS manager, why, because we
play top
quality teams
giving them advantages in various areas to use against,
playing players who do not have all the required requisites to
play in very important positions, showing massive favoritism to players who are not even fully fit, over using players, while there are adequate substitutes on the bench or in the squad and not fixing the deficiencies in the team because of stubbornness.
Bring in Ospina for Cech; Gabriel for Koscielny (Kos is 31 and its time we start testing Gabriel and Holding beside Mustafi to see what our long term first choice defensive partnership will look like); Gibbs for Monreal (Wenger needs to start rotating these 2 more frequently as we need to ascertain if Gibbs can adequately produce the
quality to hold that position from next season for a few years as I'm thinking this might be Nacho's last or penultimate season with Arsenal, it will also
give a hint as to the type of Left - back to target in the summer — first teamer or backup and age as well); I'll like to see an Elneny — Xhaka partnership in this fixture as we might just never know, this might be our replica of the Kos Mustafa partnership in the centre of the park, Two disciplined (positionally, i mean) central midfielders who can
play box to box; Chamberlain for Iwobi, and Perez for Alexis should do the work.
Are you really naive enough to believe that Wenger would bring anyone into this current locker room that is going to be
given a strong voice... have you not been watching, listening or reading about our club for years... Lehman is a blind Wenger follower, which is the only reason he was even considered... just for a second think of all the strong personalities that have
played for this club that have never been seriously considered even though they have expressed legitimate interest in participating in the coaching process... even worse, think of all the former greats who aren't even allowed on the same pitch as Wenger because they have offered their advice and / or criticism to the infallible one... I dare you to find a manager that has distanced himself from his former players as much as this man... it's the very reason why only one player I can think of has ever returned to
play for Wenger and that was Flamini, which was hilarious considering we were desperately looking for a top
quality defensive midfielder but Wenger could somehow find no one better than Flamini in the whole wide world... let's face it this club was simply trying to appease it's disgruntled fans by declaring that Wenger would no longer be
given Ca rte Blanche when it came to the backroom staff so they probably asked him to
give them a list of those who he would allow in the locker room... on that list he wrote Lehman, Pires and Bergkamp, likely because the first two are the only former players who haven't publicly questioned his horrible decision - making and the last one because he won't get in an airplane
Mario Balotelli also deserves a mention, particularly
given that the Italian forward battled hard for his teammates off the ball, while he added a bit of
quality to Milan's
play with the ball at his feet despite a string of free - kicks being sent over the bar.
Given his technical
quality, vision, creativity and eye for goal, it wouldn't appear as though he would have much trouble fitting in and suiting the style of
play at Barcelona.
«He was
playing behind a really good defence at Chelsea and that
gives you confidence week in, week out but if he doesn't get that cover we will see if he has that top
quality and that confidence to perform.»
He works hard, always
gives quality performance and wants to
play every match.
Now I think there is still reasons to be cheerful, I agree Man C & Chelski have spent & bought some good players, we all understand that 5 of those teams might be in the CL proper which is a huge distraction for those 4 - 5 teams.Chelsea will not be able to field the same 13 - 14 players all season, as for Man C they were very frail at the back last season, add to that 2 flying wing backs and I'm not sure they will be any better this coming season.LFC will most probably have CL as well if they qualify and haven't exactly bought great players apart from Salah who could be a good aquasistion for them.Spuds have sold a good player & strengthened a rival & still not bought a single player yet, Man U have bought 2 good players & in Lukaku have a proven goal scorer in the PL but if they
play the same dour way they did last season & with the added games the CL brings will they perform week in week out in the league??? As for Everton yes they have released a lot of players and also brought in a lot too to
give better
quality in the squad as they have Europa league the same as US the big difference is I think we will
play squad players & youngsters maybe with a few senior players all the way up to the QF This tells me most of our rivals will pave the way for us to field pretty much the same side every weekend in the PL thus
giving us an advantage over all the other 5 teams
playing in the CL & Europa, just remember the League has been won in the last 2 seasons by teams NOT in Europe YES we are this season but I think Wenger will put all his eggs in the League basket and field an under strength side in all comps hence focusing on the League until we are no longer in the race.
And even World Class
Quality Player like Messi, C.Ronaldo, Bale, Suarez, etc, can NEVER EVER help the team IF they are not
given a chance to
play.
A player will not change our fortunes — we have enough
quality in the team if the manager does not force people to
play out of their positions and if the players do their job — Next match Arsenal should just focus on shutting shop at Liverpool and go for a cleansheet — the midfield needs to be told to focus on disrupting more and just
give the ball to ozil / Sanchez — just sit back and stop attacks.
A tough competitor for Spain's best, Soldado has the
quality to be a match winner every time he
plays,
giving Arsenal a chance to win each and every outing.
Now in the absence of the two German's and the FRENCH at the back GABRIEL hasn't shown enough
quality to
play his
given role and if possible the central role neither.
Sell / Release Podolski - Wenger doesn't have confidence in him and hasn't impressed on loan Campbell - same Sanogo - sell or loan but don't feel confident Diaby - due to injuries do we release or
give pay as you
play contract Arteta - lost a lot of
quality but Still useful Flamini - same but not as useful
Given the contrast in Jurgen Klopp's style of
play and Benteke's
qualities, it was always likely to be a struggle for him to find his best form on Merseyside.
