role in Guardiola's side next season and beyond.
The
quality of
players bought in dropped when Gazidis took his
role, how do you explain that if it is Wengers fault?
There are better
players technically but he's a real
quality player and I think he'd be perfect as much for the fact he's versatile and the right wing / striker positions is where our team could be improved and he fits that
role perfectly.
It's a bit much to label him not good enough because he has shown the ability to be a
quality player imo, but I think he needs a bit more regular playing time and a more defined
role.
I would most like to see you share your observations about the
player you wished, how his
qualities fit to our squad, and provide evidence on how said

I'd have focused more on Torres (which I did), the lack of CB depth (I'd prefer to have two
quality CBs to back up a 3 back rather than just one with one of the starters being a converted CDM), the lack of
players who fit the outside mid
role well in this formation (which, hey, maybe that's part of what you were referring to), and the fact that when you play more attackers higher up the pitch, it often requires a team to be able to implement a high pressuring defensive line (Dempsey and Bruin are not suited for that).
It's clear that even if Mertesacker doesn't have an immediate
role to return to in the team when he recovers from injury, then at least he still has a massive influence on the

qualities.
Chelsea competed with mainly 3 top
quality players in that
role last season, namely Kante, Nematic, and Fab, and they do nt even have to contend with Europa nights....
What makes him better than Arnautovic? The stats?I'm not saying Arnautovic is better or not but if I was a neutral watching them both the difference in
quality is not huge.Do you know what Arnautovic could have done if he was given the lone CF
role i Arsenal?I guess I'm also the only one who thinks Chicharito is better than Giroud yet playing at West Ham.If we had Chicharito instead of Giroud from 2012 we could have easily won the league in 15/16 season. What makes Giroud so good that if I watch him on my TV I can't see?All I see is a
player who turns his back to goal for most parts of the match.
Francis Coquelin is one
player I feel could do such a job but as of now, he is not showing the leadership
quality needed for such a
role.
of course it wasnt right... this was a big game today and much bigger than wednesday night... you play your best
players in big games but more than that football is a team sport which depends on
players learning to interact with each other they can only do that if they play together in familiar
roles... our real
qualities players do nt play enough together....
Hahaha that's very true.At times you get the feeling that even we don't know what we want. However, the strikers Arsenal should be targetting are: Lukaku, Aubameyang, Belotti and Chiharito if everything fails. All these
players would improve us massively in terms of goalscoring and to me they are all worth their prices.I also feel Arsene Wenger doesn't know what he wants that's why he ends up panic buying as usual.I wouldn't be angry at all if he signs only one
player and that is a world class striker. We have
quality in the other positions but the
players just lack form.As for the CF
role we have no
quality.Wenger should wake up for once. This is his chanceto pounce for Aubameyang.
This is an incredibly difficult question to answer for a variety of reasons, most importantly because over the years our once vaunted «beautiful» style of play has become a shadow of it's former self, only to be replaced by a less than stellar «plug and play» mentality where
players play out of position and adjustments / substitutions are rarely forthcoming before the 75th minute... if you look at our current
players, very few would make sense in the traditional Wengerian system... at present, we don't have the personnel to move the ball quickly from deep - lying position, efficient one touch midfielders that can make the necessary through balls or the disciplined and pacey forwards to stretch defences into wide positions, without the aid of the backs coming up into the final 3rd, so that we can attack the defensive lanes in the same clinical fashion we did years ago... on this current squad, we have only 1 central defender on staf, Mustafi, who seems to have any prowess in the offensive zone or who can even pass two zones through so that we can advance play quickly out of our own end (I have seen some inklings that suggest Holding might have some offensive
qualities but too early to tell)... unfortunately Mustafi has a tendency to get himself in trouble when he gets overly aggressive on the ball... from our backs out wide, we've seen pace from the likes of Bellerin and Gibbs and the spirited albeit offensively stunted play of Monreal, but none of these
players possess the skill - set required in the offensive zone for the new Wenger scheme which requires deft touches, timely runs to the baseline and consistent crossing, especially when Giroud was playing and his ratio of scored goals per clear chances was relatively low (better last year though)... obviously I like Bellerin's future prospects, as you can't teach pace, but I do worry that he regressed last season, which was obvious to Wenger because there was no way he would have used Ox as the right side wing - back so often knowing that Barcelona could come calling in the off - season, if he thought otherwise... as for our midfielders, not a single one, minus the more confident Xhaka I watched played for the Swiss national team a couple years ago, who truly makes sense under the traditional Wenger model... Ramsey holds onto the ball too long, gives the ball away cheaply far too often and abandons his defensive responsibilities on a regular basis (doesn't score enough recently to justify): that being said, I've always thought he does possess a little something special, unfortunately he thinks so too... Xhaka is a little too slow to ever boss the midfield and he tends to telegraph his one true strength, his long ball play: although I must admit he did get a bit better during some points in the latter part of last season... it always made me wonder why whenever he played with Coq Wenger always seemed to play Francis in a more advanced
role on the pitch... as for Coq, he is way too reckless at the wrong times and has exhibited little offensive prowess yet finds himself in and around the box far too often... let's face it Wenger was ready to throw him in the trash heap when injuries forced him to use Francis and then he had the nerve to act like this was all part of a bigger Wenger constructed plan... he like Ramsey, Xhaka and Elneny don't offer the skills necessary to satisfy the quick transitory nature of our old offensive scheme or the stout defensive mindset needed to protect the defensive zone so that our offensive
players can remain aggressive in the final third... on the front end, we have Ozil, a
player of immense skill but stunted by his physical demeanor that tends to offend, the fact that he's been played out of position far too many times since arriving and that the
players in front of him, minus Sanchez, make little to no sense considering what he has to offer (especially Giroud); just think about the quick counter-attack offence in Real or the space and protection he receives in the German National team's midfield, where teams couldn't afford to focus too heavily on one individual... this
player was a passing «specialist» long before he arrived in North London, so only an arrogant or ignorant individual would try to reinvent the wheel and / or not surround such a talent with the necessary components... in regards to Ox, Walcott and Welbeck, although they all possess serious talents I see them in large part as headless chickens who are on the injury table too much, lack the necessary first - touch and / or lack the finishing flair to warrant their inclusion in a regular starting eleven; I would say that, of the 3, Ox showed the most upside once we went to a back 3, but even he became a bit too consumed by his pending contract talks before the season ended and that concerned me a bit... if I had to choose one of those 3
players to stay on it would be Ox due to his potential as a plausible alternative to Bellerin in that wing - back position should we continue to use that formation... in Sanchez, we get one of the most committed skill
players we've seen on this squad for some years but that could all change soon, if it hasn't already of course... strangely enough, even he doesn't make sense given the constructs of the original Wenger offensive model because he holds onto the ball too long and he will give the ball up a little too often in the offensive zone... a fact that is largely forgotten due to his infectious energy and the fact that the numbers he has achieved seem to justify the means... finally, and in many ways most crucially, Giroud, there is nothing about this team or the offensive system that Wenger has traditionally employed that would even suggest such a
player would make sense as a starter... too slow, too inefficient and way too easily dispossessed... once again, I think he has some special skills and, at times, has showed some world - class
qualities but he's lack of mobility is an albatross around the necks of our offence... so when you ask who would be our best starting 11, I don't have a clue because of the 5 or 6
players that truly deserve a place in this side, 1 just arrived, 3 aren't under contract beyond 2018 and the other was just sold to Juve... man, this is theraputic because following this team is like an addiction to heroin without the benefits
why did we play Welbeck in the striker's
role... no one can question his heart but to have a
player with such limited first - touch and finishing skills against such a game opponent with Lacazette on the bench is almost unforgivable... maybe it's because Welbeck tows the party line or maybe it's because Welbeck doesn't know anything but 100 % on the pitch, unfortunately neither of these
qualities makes him a capable starting striker on a team with any real aspirations... I can only hope that he was being showcased for a move elsewhere, as there was some talk last week about some interest from Everton... if he moved on that would be the only silver lining of this coach's decision, but once again it wouldn't excuse this club for putting business decisions ahead of fielding the best possible team to secure 3 points at Anfield
the team has lost urgency the thing most important to the team of highest caliber, here there is no intention to do things of any kind only flamini intentions are clear to take out opposition
player get his customary yellow and monreal's irritation is soon going to hit the papers.Wenger's verdict «at the moment we are a good team good
players good atmosphere and
players are slowly coming back from injury, monreal is solid CB and he has accepted his
role also flamini is taking the opponents nuts to the cleaners which is very viera like
quality which i like also Diaby is ready is 2 months cause the surgeon got bored of opening up him lost a screw inside so therefore fourth place is ours».

role if we buy a

Ainsley Maitland Niles in his two or so matches a CM has shown me that he can protect the back four and attack very well. Why is Wenger destroying the
player at LB?I remember also telling everyone here earlier in the season that we should change our formation to four back and that Monreal and Kolasinac shouldn't be in the same team as one has to be rested and deputise for the other.I don't care how consistent Monreal is and to me he has no CB
qualities. He at times looks almost world class at LB but to me he has no
qualities of a CB.Why is Xhaka also starting?Coquelin is twice the
player he is for the
role Xhaka should be playing.

player and has stepped up when needed in a

whatever you think of ramsey... and in my books he is a decent b2b but certainly not top class... he is not going to control the area between edge of box and centre line which is what all great DMs do... nor has coquelin proved that to me... he is a guttusso type
player and has improved massively in that
role... not convinced it is what will take us to challenging for titles however which is why a cavalho type DM is a needed addition especially as arteta and flamini are obviously not up to the task... but have always said that wengers job is to get best out of ozil santi and wilshere who are the real creative world class strengths of this squad... they need protection behind them and options in front... at moment the real worry is that wenger will continue to use mertesakher at CB and fail to bring in
quality striker... so the song remains the same... without
quality DM and attacking option we will be trying to retain 3rd place and reach qf of cl
He is one of the arsenal
players who despite being great in his own right was overshadowed by those around him... Such was the

role at Arsenal to help him get out of this mess...
