we have at most 4 real
quality outfielders i.e. players that other top european teams would take... ozil sanchez santi and kos... in my books you need 6... we are two short but worse the
quality of others is lower
than needed... only bellerin coq and wilshere have that potential... and there are problems with each still... we should have put in bids in june for griezman kondogbia and the Burussia
striker as all could have been prized away with right bid plus players thrown in IMO... now its too late and wenger is in some weird gallic world of existential hope and denial and fans are just praying we do nt lose opening 2 matches for first time in over two decades... but no one is really confident against a team which is sure to finish around mid table...

striker (even if he will take some adaptation time I think he'll be true class) in Lacazette, we have solid center backs (once they are all healthy) much better
than in recent seasons, Giroud is our killer weapon off the bench rather
than the key we are relying on as the main source of goals, Coquelin and Elneny are now midfield fall - back options rather
than Flamini (no offense Mathieu, I appreciated your efforts, just making the obvious comparison), two high
quality keepers, etc..

quality and expect that wenger knows what he's doing.it's amazing how people rant about the DM or CB or

strikers ie Vardy, Costa, Aguero, RVP, Rooney, Ronaldo, Drogba, Tevez, Van Nistleroy, Henry, Bergkamp, Ian Wright All these
strikers have scored over 20 goals in a season Very rarely do PL Champions have a

I am very baffled as to why we haven't signed a
striker yet.I liked diego Costa as he was that finisher in arsenals mould and he went to chelsea for not an astronomical figure. The
quality and quantity of
strikers have dropped drastically.I saw Harry Kane's performance against us and i think he is that
striker with vision as well as finish like costa. But he is at Tottenham so i think he wouldn't come as well.Benzema maybe better
than giroud but is he the finisher we want (i don't watch la liga).

if we do not buy one of the top
strikers out there, we will finish the league as usual... as simple as that... walcott is not
striker,
striker must have off all stuff he possesses the first is technique, which he do nt have... He is fast but that is not the major
quality striker must have, if you compare him and pippo inzaghi... pippo barely could walk, but he is by miles better
striker than walcott and giroud..
I'm with you there mate. He's just an average player beign given many chances.A lot of average
strikers can even do better because of the chances Arsenal creates. There are some
strikers who are not top
quality but have very good finishing that if given the same seasons and chances Giroud has had they can do better.I hate it when they make it seem like only world class
strikers are better
than him. He's really only improved from season 14/15 honestly speaking. He used to be so bad and waste a lot of chances. It's just that become can not see the fact that he's not as good as they think. We will surely be vindicated by his performance for another club.

strikers are too low

quality players in the same window.
I know this level of consistency is superhuman and that the Wales team had better
strikers than giroud in Sam vokes and robson - Kanu but whatever you think of him you can not deny the
quality of his euros performance, even in things not shown in stats like motivational skills.
Bendtner or Chamakh would still have been considered average even if they scored 25goals because they had average talent. For all the potential Bendtner had he never maximised it so as long asit wasn't developed he's still average.I mean it's possoble for an average player to score 25 goals when given the chances and possible for a world class
striker to score less
than that.
Quality is a talent which may be linked to stats but does not necessarily show on stats.Take Ox for example, if you looked at his stats you might think he's average but he's not.Look at Lukaku, he's scored many goals for Everton yetmany people here think he's not gpod enough for Arsenal because they look at the
quality and talent andnot just the goals.
Arsene and Arsenal wants a 30 - 50 m

But the lesson here is AFC need to buy top
quality tall and pacy centerback and tall powerful dm to defend set pieces against the likes of west brom and sunderland next season rather

striker who is clearly off form to compensate / cover such weakness.
He is not a
quality striker because he makes a lot of mistakes in his game. The fact that he scores 20 goals does not mean he is a
quality back up
striker. It is one thing to be a goal scorer and another thing to be a good or average player.Goal scoring is a very important aspect of a player but not the only aspect.Trust me you can score 20 goals in all competitions and still be average. If Chamakh, Gervinho and all the so called flops scored this same goals they would still have been considered not good enough for Arsenal. His game is just not good enough and I for one believe even if no one believes that we can get a backup
striker who is better
than him and also a top centre forward. Its all about mentality and willingness.Forget his goals and look at his game or else you'll force me to bring up
strikers in the world who have scored his same goals and are even considered terrible.
So if a deal can be struck for Morata or any other top
quality striker for that matter, then it needs to be done sooner rather
than later.
As it stands, this squad is fairly well positioned to compete for the Wenger Cup and make a deep run in the Europa, if and only if we play first stringers in Europe and use the bench for the League and FA Cups... that being said, and based on the fragility of the manager and the team in recent campaigns, it's more likely that Wenger will focus on a top 4 finish and the FA Cup... while the reasons for such an approach may appear logical, it would confirm a rather disturbing trend and appear counter intuitive for any team which claims to have higher aspirations... I feel that Wenger simply can't afford to put all his eggs in the Europa basket because if he fails the potential backlash could cripple any top 4 chances due to the aforementioned fragile psyche that tends to rear it's ugly head like our own personal groundhog day each and every February... furthermore, can you even imagine Wenger bringing in the necessary recruits to adequately supply top
quality lineups in a Thursday / Sunday dominated schedule; based on everything I've seen in recent years, I can't see that happening... in fact, mark my words, it's more likely that we see Lacazette playing out wide in Alexis's position with Giroud at
striker,
than we see Wenger make the necessary moves to right this ship... god, I hope I'm wrong but is it really that far - fetched considering what we've witnessed for past several years
Time for some brutal honesty... this team, as it stands, is in no better position to compete next season
than they were 12 months ago, minus the fact that some fans have been easily snowed by the acquisition of Lacazette, the free transfer LB and the release of Sanogo... if you look at the facts carefully you will see a team that still has far more questions
than answers... to better show what I mean by this statement I will briefly discuss the current state of affairs on a position - by - position basis... in goal we have 4 potential candidates, but in reality we have only 1 option with any real future and somehow he's the only one we have actively tried to get rid of for years because he and his father were a little too involved on social media and he got caught smoking (funny how people still defend Wiltshire under the same and far worse circumstances)... you would think we would want to keep any goaltender that Juventus had interest in, as they seem to have a pretty good history when it comes to that position... as far as the defenders on our current roster there are only a few individuals whom have the skill and / or youth worthy of our time and / or investment, as such we should get rid of anyone who doesn't meet those simple requirements, which means we should get rid of DeBouchy, Gibbs, Gabriel, Mertz and loan out Chambers to see if last seasons foray with Middlesborough was an anomaly or a prediction of things to come... some fans have lamented wildly about the return of Mertz to the starting lineup due to his FA Cup performance but these sort of pie in the sky meanderings are indicative of what's wrong with this club and it's wishy - washy fan - base... in addition to these moves the club should aggressively pursue the acquisition of dominant and mobile CB to stabilize an all too fragile defensive group that has self - destructed on numerous occasions over the past 5 seasons... moving forward and building on our need to re-establish our once dominant presence throughout the middle of the park we need to target a CDM then do whatever it takes to get that player into the fold without any of the usual nickel and diming we have become famous for (this kind of ruthless haggling has cost us numerous special players and certainly can't help make the player in question feel good about the way their future potential employer feels about them)... in order for us to become dominant again we need to be strong up the middle again from Goalkeeper to CB to DM to ACM to
striker, like we did in our most glorious years before and during Wenger's reign... with this in mind, if we want Ozil to be that dominant attacking midfielder we can't keep leaving him exposed to constant ridicule about his lack of defensive prowess and provide him with the proper players in the final third... he was never a good defensive player in Real or with the German National squad and they certainly didn't suffer as a result of his presence on the pitch... as for the rest of the midfield the blame falls squarely in the hands of Wenger and Gazidis, the fact that Ramsey, Ox, Sanchez and even Ozil were allowed to regularly start when none of the aforementioned had more
than a year left under contract is criminal for a club of this size and financial might... the fact that we could find money for Walcott and Xhaka, who weren't even guaranteed starters, means that our whole business model needs a complete overhaul... for me it's time to get rid of some serious deadweight, even if it means selling them below what you believe their market value is just to simply right this ship and change the stagnant culture that currently exists... this means saying goodbye to Wiltshire, Elneny, Carzola, Walcott and Ramsey... everyone, minus Elneny, have spent just as much time on the training table as on the field of play, which would be manageable if they weren't so inconsistent from a performance standpoint (excluding Carzola, who is like the recent version of Rosicky — too bad, both will be deeply missed)... in their places we need to bring in some proven performers with no history of injuries... up front, although I do like the possibilities that a player like Lacazette presents, the fact that we had to wait so many years to acquire some true
quality at the
striker position falls once again squarely at the feet of Wenger... this issue highlights the ultimate scam being perpetrated by this club since the arrival of Kroenke: pretend your a small market club when it comes to making purchases but milk your fans like a big market club when it comes to ticket prices and merchandising... I believe the reason why Wenger hasn't pursued someone of Henry's
quality, minus a fairly inexpensive RVP, was that he knew that they would demand players of a similar ilk to be brought on board and that wasn't possible when the business model was that of a «selling» club... does it really make sense that we could only make a cheeky bid for Suarez, or that we couldn't get Higuain over the line when he was being offered up for half the price he eventually went to Juve for, or that we've only paid any interest to
strikers who were clearly not going to press their current teams to let them go to Arsenal like Benzema or Cavani... just part of the facade that finally came crashing down when Sanchez finally called their bluff... the fact remains that no one wants to win more
than Sanchez, including Wenger, and although I don't agree with everything that he has done off the field, I would much rather have Alexis front and center
than a manager who has clearly bought into the Kroenke model in large part due to the fact that his enormous ego suggests that only he could accomplish great things without breaking the bank... unfortunately that isn't possible anymore as the game has changed quite dramatically in the last 15 years, which has left a largely complacent and complicit Wenger on the outside looking in... so don't blame those players who demanded more and were left wanting... don't blame those fans who have tried desperately to raise awareness for several years when cracks began to appear... place the blame at the feet of those who were well aware all along of the potential pitfalls of just such a plan but continued to follow it even when it was no longer a financial necessity, like it ever really was...
For Arsenal the part we always ignore is what always costs us and it won't shock me if it happens again. The fact that Sanchez and even Walcott have been chosen over him in CF tells me a lot about his
quality. However, the thing is that both these players don't have
striker instincts. They did well but to me they never really played like actual
strikers and both had many limitations.Honestly, speaking as a
striker he's better
than both in terms of positioning and others but he lacks
quality in finishing and cutting edge. He's very lucky to be in Arsenal.
Luiz does have his
qualities but being a disciplined defender is not one of them and if the Gunners go with the pace and movement up front of Alexis Sanchez, Theo Walcott and our new Spanish
striker Lucas Perez I can see Luiz getting in such a mess that he will look even more of a clown
than his cartoon lookalike «sideshow» bob from The Simpsons.
The Brazil international has been an underrated star of the Reds» campaign, with his
quality and work rate up front more
than making up for his slightly reduced goal threat in comparison to other leading
strikers.
He didn't finish much higher
than us with his world class
striker (Aguero) and his
quality signings.
The thing that really bothers me is the thing we've disagreed on in the past and that's imo Wengers apparent lack of Urgency and decisiveness when moving into the transfer window I know that Scheweinsteiger would be a great addition but He is somewhat over the hill in comparison to the others that are being toted about and while I know that we are not the cash Rich Man Poo or Man Sh!tty or Chelski I do know that we are at a point for the first time in ten years where we don't need to replace many players or are being frced to sell the
quality ones we have, we are for the first time in a spot where we only need to add two or three players and we are there in terms of being able to compete, Id hate for the financial Exuberance to stop us taking that final stride forward into the competitive team we nearly are IMO spend the money now, get the
striker, get the DM and we wont need to look at transfers in a big way again for several seasons and with that in mind Id rather have the likes of Benzema or Lacazetta or even Cavanni
than a nearly over the hill Scheweinsteiger.
I'm confident hat we will sign a
quality striker and will be much more prepared for the start of the season
than we were last year.
GOONSTER Yes your right we did have some great players in the past and why not now??? If you think we could win the legue with this squad with NO
striker then your deluded I'm hoping that AW will buy
quality striker and more otherwise our hopes of wining the legue is almost impossible and as for CL no chance but all it takes is to buy couple of more right players we have more
than enough funds in the bank so why why why not????? Is it because if Arsen buys
quality players then there is no exuse for not wining trophies, I still belive in Wanger but I think his scared of controlling world class players so he goes for neede players or with injury history.
While I was really miffed with Wenger not buying any outfield player this season, I am tending to agree with him that its worth giving Walcott a shot up front
than put 50m on a
striker you are not sure would bring in the requisite
quality.
I causes sufferers to hold an over-inflated view of any
striker that might be slightly better
than Giroud simply because Giroud is not # 1
striker quality for Arsenal.
