The national median existing single - family home price in the third quarter was $ 240,900, which is up 5.2 percent from the third quarter of 2015 ($ 228,900) and surpasses this year's second quarter ($ 240,700) as the current peak
quarterly median sales price.

Sales Drop Amid Rising Home Prices in Q1 The
quarterly report from the National Association of Realtors (NAR) for Q1 2018 shows that the national
median price for existing single - family homes increased by 5.7 % from Q1 2017 to $ 245,500.
Median existing single - family home prices are firming in many metropolitan areas, while improving
sales and declining inventory are creating more balanced conditions, according to the latest
quarterly report by the National Association of Realtors ®.
NAR also publishes key housing statistics on a regular basis, including national and regional existing - home
sales, a pending home
sales index, a housing affordability index, and
quarterly reports on metropolitan area housing affordability and
median home prices.
