My grandmother made that little
quilt out of fabric leftover from all the dresses that she sewed for my daughter, her great - granddaughter.
The quilter in me wants you to make
a quilt out of your fabrics with the intention of cutting it up for your seat cushion — think how much you enjoy your quilted tree footstool!

Fabrics came
out with their first line
of organic
quilting cottons, I felt like I had found my niche.

However, it makes me think
of my grandmother's «guest
quilt» made by her aunt
out of grain sacks and clothing -
fabric scraps.
When she died a few years ago, she left a package
of fabrics she had picked
out for a
quilt, along with the pattern.
