Before I let my dogs
out in the evening, I scan the
yard to make sure no
rabbits are
out there.
There are some who enjoy taking their
rabbit out in the back / front
yard on the harness, and if your
yard is not fenced, putting your
rabbit on a leash is a great idea.
Indoor
rabbits should have the freedom to hop around your rooms and have access to sunlight, while outdoor
rabbits should be
out of their enclosures a few hours every day to stretch their legs
in a fenced
yard.
If you let them
out to hop
in the
yard, very often your neighbors will have used pesticides, which will leach over into your lawn, could be lethal for your
rabbit.
For safe daytime exercise, we suggest a pen within your fenced
yard, one with a top and bottom as well as sides, to keep the
rabbit from digging
out and unwelcome visitors from climbing or jumping
in.
I have a large patch of mums
in my garden covered with buds, and I caught a
rabbit nibbling on them yesterday, to which I ran
out my back door and across the
yard yelling «Please don't eat my mums!»
Of course this gives Buckley the perfect look -
out spot for the pesky
rabbits in our
yard!
