Successfully navigating the turbulent turns of the New York city circuit requires a lot of skill if you want to finish with a fast time or respectable
race position, while the narrow design reminiscent of the first WipEout game forces you to be strategic when overtaking opponents - you really have to meticulously memorise the layout of the track and remember braking points and boost pad locations to maximise your
speed, but it's very rewarding when you get into a flow, blast through every boost pad and glide into every twist and turn
at full speed.
Ramming an enemy
at full speed will sometimes barely make a dent, but tap them in the right spot during a
race and they will explode.
In this
racing game, it's all about your skills - navigate your way through heavy traffic
at full speed.
However, there are further elements to car combat generally; even when not participating in a battle
race or takedown event such as side bashing into other cars to knock them off their preferred
racing line and making contact with any number of cars when having engaged a
full in the zone boost results in those cars being momentarily taken out of the event and being reset to the track without any immediate

at an opposing car.
