As well as the worlds and different
race modes on offer, Crash Drive 2 lets players unlock and upgrade a wide range of vehicles that can be purchased from funds accrued by competing in the various game modes.
Not exact matches
As a simulation, it doesn't hold a candle to some of the games
offered on the PC, but it makes up for it with its breadth of career
mode features that help make it more than just a
racing game, but a
racing RPG of sorts.
At this stage the essential differences between the previous model and the new car become clear, not least because you now have an «RS Drive» button, which
offers a choice of three distinct
modes (Normal, Sport and
Race) to tailor the car's behaviour to the road you're
on and the mood you're in.
The AMG DYNAMIC SELECT
offers four distinct transmission driving
modes on the C 63 Coupe base model (from economical to sporty or individual) and five for the S model which gets an extra «
Race» setting.
It also possesses the same driving
modes of comfort, Sport and + R, Project P
offering both ride comfort as well as a unique
racing capability
on track.
While the A5
offers a sportier drive than its A4 predecessor, the S5 has the added benefit of a «dynamic
racing mode»
racing profile, meaning you can set it free
on long stretches of road or take it around a track to see what it's really made of!
The behind - the - car
racing game
offers time - trial competitions, where you can compare times with other players in the same room as you, a full -
on career
mode, car upgrades and customization, and over 100 tracks set in a variety of environments and weather conditions...
Once you've worked your way through all of that it's
on the career
mode, the core of which haven't changed at all: you pick a low - level team and then proceed to
race through multiple seasons of F1, with good performances at
race weekends potentially earning you a contract
offer from a higher team for the next year.
You won't just be taking part in standard
races in Cars 3: Driven to Win, with a variety of different
modes on offer.
As well as one off
races Project Cars 2
offers an extensive career
mode option, which sees you taking part in various leagues by signing
on with a team of your choice.
You're still going to be better off with a proper
racing wheel setup for Project Cars 2, which
offers the most intuitive way to play in cockpit
mode, and a VR setup will also help to truly get the most out of the pristine simulation
on offer here.
A selection of gaming
modes are
on offer including Time Trials, Single
Races and Championship Events.
There are four major game
modes on offer in Real
Racing.
Finding games and relying
on the matchmaking works well enough, and playing online
modes like Mario Kart 8's competitive and battle
modes is as seamless as playing the single - player
races and offline battle
modes with other players via the local
offerings.
It
offers a satisfying collection of cars, tracks, and
race types, plus its focus
on arcade -
mode action makes it feel a bit old - school in some regards.
Six preset game
mode settings are
on hand for the Elite 800X — Signature Sound (Turtle Beach's default
offering), shooter,
racing, sports, Superhuman Hearing and Footstep Focus.
