Radar reflectivity refers to how well an object reflects radar waves. It measures how much of the radar signal is bounced back to the radar system after hitting an object. High
radar reflectivity means the object reflects a lot of radar waves, while low
radar reflectivity means the object reflects fewer waves. This information helps in detecting and analyzing objects such as rain, snow, or even aircraft in weather radar systems.

Because dendrites and their aggregates often reached millimeter sizes for this case, for which a so - called soft - sphere model of radar backscattering is inaccurate, we used the generalized multiparticle Mie method described in a companion study by Giovanni Botta and co-authors to
compute radar reflectivities from our model output.
