exhibition, reconsiders the choreographer and his collaborators as an extraordinarily generative interdisciplinary network that preceded and predicted dramatic shifts in performance, including the development of site - specific dance, the use of technology as a choreographic tool and the
radical separation of sound and movement in dance.

From 1994 to 1996 Bauer was guest curator for NowHere at the Louisiana Museum of Modern
Art, Humlebæk (1996), and was Artistic Director at Künstlerhaus Stuttgart e.V. from 1990 to 1994, she has also been responsible for numerous
exhibitions, lectures and international conferences such as
Radical Chic (1993) and A New Spirit in Curating «(1992).
A new
exhibition «Looking Back (Looking Forward): The Black Mountain Experience,» on view at Vanderbilt University's Fine
Arts Gallery in Nashville through March 2, retraces the
radical educational experiment that brought European Modernism to the American South, creating a vision of tomorrow that we're still catching up with today.
The Idiosyncratic Pencil is an experimental group
exhibition inspired by both the Fluxus
art movement of the 1960s and William Henry Fox Talbot's groundbreaking 1844 The Pencil of Nature, each a
radical break from past methods of
art production.
By bringing together all parts of her
radical production, the
exhibition seeks to reintroduce her into current discourses of abstraction, participation, and a therapeutic
art practice.

radical reclamation of all aspects of visual expression, the studio is grounded in the lasting potential of the graphic

Art historian Rosie Rockel presents a film about Tate Modern's dazzling
exhibition dedicated to the
radical Russian artist Kazimir Malevich.

art's revolutionary possibilities for social change as evinced in Rainer's anti-war protest dances in the 1970s and the feminist dimensions of her
radical choreographic style and films, as well as in Pendleton's Black Lives Matter flag for the Belgian Pavilion in the 2015 Venice Biennial and his latest series of paintings entitled Untitled (A Victim of American Democracy), which debuted this past summer as part of Edwards» Blackness in Abstraction
exhibition at Pace Gallery and are now on display in Pendleton's first show with Galerie Eva Presenhuber, Zurich named Midnight in America.
Andrea Rosen Gallery is thrilled to announce an
exhibition of Stan VanDerBeek (d. 1984), whose visionary approach to
art making was not only
radical in his time, but is also increasingly reflective of a contemporary discourse around the integration of media, technology, and everyday life.
The next
exhibition of his paintings was not to be for almost 40 years; in the intervening decades Thompson became perhaps the most visionary and
radical art educationalist in Europe, turning Goldsmiths College into a creatively toxic generator of talent, fostering the YBA generation and setting the agenda for years to come.
Taking the commercial colour chart as its point of departure, the
exhibition emphasises a
radical transformation in the post-War Western
art that is characterised by the departure from such notions as originality, uniqueness and authenticity.

The political body, a key concept of the
exhibition Radical Women: Latin American
Art, 1960 - 1985, is bound by the poetics of subjectivity, shaped by desire, and disobedient and resistant in the face of political turmoil such as oppression, violence, and dictatorship.
Over the past 14 years Adrian has curated a wide variety of

exhibition explored in depth the relationship of
radical politics to
art, by providing visitors with factual context in the form of historical objects that brought home the social and historical realities the movement faced, interspersed with historic artwork that supported and reflected its circumstances and ideals, as well as contemporary pieces.
She is cocurator of Another Promised Land: Anita Brenner's Mexico at the Skirball Cultural Center, a part of Pacific Standard Time: LA / LA, and contributed an essay about Mexican women artists to the

This lecture is copresented with USC's Roski School of
Art and Design in conjunction with the Hammer Museum's
exhibition Radical Women: Latin American
Art, 1960 - 1985.
The immersive
exhibition was deemed
radical and progressive by many in the
art world, and it launched the careers of a generation of Australian artists including Sydney Ball, Janet Dawson, Peter Booth and Robert Hunter.
Last fall, ARTNews reported that renowned conceptual artist Adrian Piper had asked New York University's Grey
Art Gallery to remove her video from the traveling
exhibition Radical Presence: Black Performance in Contemporary
Art.
Our
exhibition poses the question: What is the legacy of Cubism in the hundred years since the Armory Show's
radical display of modern European and American
art, and especially, how has this become relevant again in our digital age?
