A few months ago we made a batch of color rice for the first time, it turned out beautiful and the kids really enjoyed mixing the single colors into an
entire rainbow rice combination!
We opened the bas to let the rice dry and in about 5 minutes (probably less) we had a bunch
of rainbow rice!
To make
the rainbow rice you I cooked white sushi rice and added the colours afterwards apart from the purple, to make the purple I cooked the about 1/2 cup of rice with water I cooked purple cabbage in.

We make and use a lot of kitchen and house hold items in our every day play, from making our own homemade playdough to
rainbow rice and color pasta.
Always good to have in the house,
rainbow rice will come in handy in some of the ideas below.
A few times a week you can also add to
that some rainbow rice or teeny bits of dried beans or lentils from our sensory tubs, and in the afternoon and on weekends, there is also a hefty amount of glitter and teeny bits of cut up paper thanks to some crafty creative kids!
