Not exact matches
While the number
of dogs exposed to the virus who'll get canine
flu is around 80 %, the mortality
rate is very low.
Morbidity (incidence
rate or the prevalence
rate of a disease) is higher then mortality (susceptible to death), meaning that almost all
dogs; which come in contact with the virus are infected, but the
flu has not been proven to be fatal as
of yet.
However, if a
dog is exposed to other respiratory diseases at the same time as a
Flu infection, especially Canine Distemper and / or Kennel Cough, the mix
of the multiple diseases is much more serious, with a high
rate of mortality.
While we're not recommending the
dog flu vaccine until there is more information about the efficacy
rate and side effects
of the vaccine, you should be aware
of the canine
flu and take measures to keep your companions safe and healthy.
