The success
of the first Hangover
film (the highest grossing R -
rated comedy

time) has propelled its cast and they are all highly recognisable (some might argue overexposed) actors.
That moral ambiguity,
of course, is a huge reason why Deadpool was so popular last
time around — it was 2016's highest grossing R -
rated film ever — and looks set to continue being so for some
time to come.
Galifianakis played Alan, the hapless member
of the wolfpack in all three
films, the first
of which became domestically, the highest grossing R -
rated comedy
of all
time.
I was the only black person in the theater, lured to the
film by its glowing reviews — at the
time of this writing, it holds a
rating of 93 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, boosted by several notices that gush about how the
film is a dark but honest look at humanity and grief.
