However, many trail
mixes, unless homemade, are made with roasted and salted
nuts, and I was really going for the unadulterated flavor of
raw nuts with a sprinkling of sea salt on the side.
And when they came off of the griddle all toasted on the outside and doughy in the middle, I got all warm and fuzzy on the inside... okay maybe not, but I did split one open right away and topped it with some
mixed nut butter and
raw honey.

I've been experimenting with
raw cacao powder, dates, macadamia
nuts and water in the vita
mix and the results have been promising, but i bet you could perfect something like that!

Oat - free: The whole rolled oats in this recipe mostly provide physical structure, so you could perhaps replace them with some
mixed, chopped
raw nuts.
